after watching two games this year, I noticed that when he pivots he keeps the lead arm at a 45 degree angle instead of a 90 degree chicken wing that would get him in trouble the previous 3 years. Maybe he got that pointer from the NBA tryouts but nice to see him adjust for the better.

His left hand shot is improved too. I am also glad to see him taking more mid range jump shots.

He still needs to be more aggressive going after boards. It hurts when Matt takes him out after every foul. He is great at stopping penetration of the ballhandler on pick and rolls, but I would like to see him jump out occasionally on the shooter. I think he would do that with Haarms or Taylor at the 4.

Watch him carefully during the next game. He is excellent at blocking out opponents so that his teammates get the rebound. When they do, those rebounds should be credited 1/2 to HIM. It becomes a problem when his teammates don't crash the boards and accept the assist.

If he can get shots off against Haarms in practice, not many opposing centers are going to be able to bother his shot this year without help. But, what I found most encouraging was his passing out of double teams.

My only criticism, if it even is one, is I wish he would throw down everything at point blank range. Not sure how he misses so many dunks?

I think many over estimate his athletic jumping ability. He looks very athletic and he is very strong in a pure 'strength' standpoint. However, Isaac isn't springy athletic, especially from a straight up jump from a standstill. That's why he misses these baby dunks.

Personally, I wish he would just lay it in every time. I don't care how he makes it, just put it in the basket.

He only has to jump a couple inches to dunk. That's just a flukey thing. Only play that bothered me was the fadeaway. 'Blocked his own shot' as Painter said after the game.

Don't discount the fact there is typically someone holding or at least leaning on him when he goes up for dunks. It seems to me when there is no one close to him he has no problem dunking the ball. One of the main reasons O'Neil went pro early when he was LSU. He was getting hung on with no call.

Don't get me wrong, I love the kid and am very grateful for what he has done while at Purdue. As a 6' individual that just wished I could dunk, it kills me watching a 7'2" giant missing a dunk. Haha
