Is PJ a go?

CMP said on his radio show Monday night that he expected him to be at practice on Tuesday............so I'd think he is a go!

He talked about PJ on video (there is a thread with the link if you want to watch it). He didn't say 100%, but PJ is practicing with a mask, so I would guess he is good to go. CMP did say there was no concussion, so that is good news.

CMP said he has a slight headache through Monday but was being fitted for a mask he would wear during the game. I fully expect the mask to be worn throughout the season as those things usually don't come off once a guy starts to wear them. Richard Hamilton wore his for at least a full season in Detroit after breaking his nose or cheek a number of years ago.

I just want to know if PJ gets hit in the face more than other players. Dead serious.

Yeah CMP and Cliz talked about Kenneth Lowe wearing one for awhile, Cliz said Lowe told him he broke his nose a few times while at PU. Then CMP upped the conversation by saying he himself broke his nose 3 times in one season!!! Not sure if this was in high school or not? Don't remember it occurring at PU?

In interview CMP laughed and said no stats on that when asked that very same...however was pointed out the guy is only 5'8" out there.....Guess a bad height in close quarters.

Yep, I'm betting in practice he's always running his face into Haas' knees!!!

Thanks, Gal. I'm just glad somebody finally asked the important question. ;)

Well I'm glad pj's doing alright. I hope this didn't cause too much more stress with finals.

A part of me likes having a guy with a mask....fits our image of playing hard.

I'll never forget the game when Harris was ejected for the elbow on Kramer. The crowd willed the refs to eject him. The way Kramer was swinging a towel above his head, blood dripping everywhere, it felt like it was a WWF stunt

Chris Kramer was a hell of a Boilermaker. I miss his edge, toughness and will to win on the floor. Not saying our current roster does not possess those things, but he had them all and was just special. Not a relative either.

That is my most memorable game in Mackey ever. Don't forget that LewJack was out that game with a concussion, and Hummel was in the tunnel riding the bike for his bad back, so when the Harris elbow happened the Paint Crew was like a wounded animal backed into a corner. That was the most visceral collective emotion I ever experienced in my time at Purdue.

Of course Hummel and Kramer got back on the court and we pulled away pretty handily in the second half, but man I thought that a lack of depth was going to ruin the season. Smooge and JJ couldn't do it all. Yet another reason to appreciate what we have going this year.
