2013- 12th (mostly Hope recruits)
2014- 13th
2015- 14th
2016- 13th

No other school in the B1G has finished in the bottom 4 of recruiting EVERY SINGLE YEAR, assuming Iowa doesn't drop from 6 to 11 in the next 2 weeks.

Can't wait to see how Morgue and Haze try to sell this hot garbage on signing day...

that's my point, if you have a good coach you'll get good recruits no matter where the school is located. Pullman is a hard place to recruit to and so is Ames but looks like Campbell is doing well in a short time there.

The funny part about this is one of the reasons Burke spouted for keeping hazell during that btn speech was continuity for recruiting The class has fallen apart since.

Last year killed the program all around. It was a crucial year for Hazell's credibility and for building the program. If they win 4-6 games last year, recruiting looks much better than it is right now. Hazell can and has identified talent early on and received commitments from decently talented recruits, however losing doesnt help the cause of locking those players up come NSD. Only way out of this is to win. Not simple to do but, thats the solution.

You can bet that Purdue gives more access and is much more chummy with the J&C, G&B and WLFI people who lob softballs than with anyone who is going to point out their contradictions. In the reporter's defense, it's their livelihood and no news organization wants to employee people who can't get interviews with the HC or AD because they've been blackballed.

I really found it funny when Hazell gave his whole speech about "You have to believe in the process and stick with the process" and then 3 weeks later says they "Need to fix EVERYTHING". If the process is working why 3 weeks later does everything need to be fixed?

Would have loved for someone to have asked that one and hear his response.

Coach Hazell, can you explain why you have been unable to get recruits to Purdue to make the program better?

Coach Hazell, could you explain what Mr. Burke explained as the improvements that fans haven't seen considering what fans have seen is three of the least competitive seasons in Purdue football?

Coach Hazell, other than the promises that have seemingly failed to come to fruition, what can you tell fans that would excite them about the program?

Coach Hazell, can you explain what you feel happened to the issues we have seen on offense and how that led to a change in OC?

Can you explain why your plan of recruiting the 'State of Purdue' has led to so few recruits from previous places that Purdie succeeded in including Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan?

These questions are angry and are pointed to get a response many on here would like. If he avoids questions like this from the fans, then I don't think even him getting to 5 or 6 wins saves him from the fans perspective.

They have screeners so the questions would not happen. Now a Caravan stop? Maybe those get through.

To answer the question, I think he is not so much a bad recruiter as he is a bad evaluator of talent.

You could tell the screener you plan to ask coach where you can purchase one of those sweet turtlevests, or how to get your hat bill like that, and they will patch you thru. Then you can get at least 1 tough question in.
