Iowa looks to be good too…just allergic to defense and scoring the ball for stretches 😂
Physical and decent defense too. Get to the hole. Glad they aren't on our schedule.
They have a good backcourt combo with lipsey and Gilbert. Gilbert can get down hill and score it. Lipsey has been up and down so far (due to his shoulder surgery this offseason) and his shooting hasn’t been the best, but he controls the game for isu and both him and Gilbert are pests on defense. Their interior is physical and athletic, would be great to see if Trey can get to the point that Jefferson is at with being physical, but also passing the rock. They have a decent bench too.
SHOULD be a tough out in March.
I like their coach too. Doesn't lose his mind on every call, seems to have good relationship with refs. Calm in the huddle with his team. They just keep coming at you. He has that program in a nice position right now.
they are built like us, tad worse on D, lack of athleticism, bad rebounding team, try to make up for it by good ball movement and spacing living and dying by the 3 w/ getting 15 to 20 from their undersized Center
Otz is great. Wisconsin twitter was convinced last year that he would come back to his home state and coach there… 😂
There center is a load. Built like a Mack Truck. They are a very tough and physical team.
Probably has something to do with Iowa being soft again too.
Iowa State combines physical play with modern basketball, and somehow, it works. I like watching them a lot.
I would love to see Iowa State and Texas A&M meet in March - very cool style of play for them both.
