If Ronne could have seen into the future and known this roster before transferring, would he?

On one hand, he could be the senior PG leader of a top 25 team with deep tourney run aspirations

-Or-

Would he have left knowing that his role would be to get the ball into the post, control the pace of the game to take advantage of the front line, move the ball to open shooters and defend.

I would think the latter, ultimately the style he wanted to play (I am reluctant to say the style of play he excelled in) was to push the ball and he wanted to be the guy to take over a game.

We would have never been a top 25 team and biggie wouldn't have come here if Ronnie was still here. His personal philosophy did not fit the teams philosophy. He didn't like the team first approach. I am glad that locker room cancer went to play for that scumbag.

I think Bryson Scott definitely regrets decision - didn't he say as much?

That said, so far Johnny Hill seems pretty steady & decent decision maker. He doesn't consider it to be his role to take over the game; he's OK with being a cog in the machine. I'll miss Bryson being on the floor when it comes time to defend Yogi, but other than that I'll take the team we have now.

And I do wish both those guys well. They're both so young still - they will mature a lot the next 5 or 10 years. No use holding a grudge against guys who actually both got out of the way and let the team become what it has.

I think that BScott would have been an asset to Purdue this year and next. He has a confident attitude and a legit B1G talent. He definitely does not back down to any player or team. I thought he would get a look at the starting spot at PG this year, and was surprised ( and a bit relieved ) that he decided to transfer. He has a toughness that you want out of a player. Anyone know why he actually decided to go? I think he would have started for the Boilees this year.

I don't know. My "hunch" is he thought high profile programs would desire him and look for him to be more of a scorer. Once he left, he went on record saying it was a mistake. I wish him well and hope he has a future in the game he loves

I have no inside knowledge, but I'm guessing his coaches or teammates were pleading with him to stay. It sounded pretty clear he was not a good teammate.

If Ronnie had bought in and told his dad to shut the hell up, we would be a top 10-15 team.

That was never going to happen. As long as our focus is on the bigs, RJ would have been unhappy.

He is an incredibly talented PG, just didn't fit with Purdue.

He was told he would be the starting PG his sophomore year, then we got Octeus, and he hardly ever played towards the end of the season. I think he was just dissapointed he didn't get the minutes he was expecting. He wanted originally to go to ISU with Brenton but they were hesitant because they want Brenton to be the star of the team for the future. So he decided to go to IPFW and be their star in his hometown

I was and am a big Bryson Scott fan, but to say he was told he would be the starting PG is completely unbelievable. Especially since he was always in MP's doghouse for his bull-headedness. His greatest strength was also his greatest weakness. Hopefully, as he grows he will learn to choose his battles.

I really liked the kid. In a way, his journey reminds me of Johnny Hills. Hill admitted he shouldn't have made his first transfer and did it prematurely. Scott has already publicly said he regrets transferring from Purdue and that it was an emotional decision and not a logical one.
