Purdue's already thin front line will start the season even thinner.

The Boilermakers will open next month without Nora Kiesler, Tamara Farquhar and Fatou Diagne, with hopes that the latter two could return by the time Purdue starts its journey West with a date at Utah on Nov. 20. That's the start of an 11-day stretch in which Purdue will play five games, including three in Hawaii and then a return at Georgia Tech for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

"But it's not like they're just going to come back and be 100-percent, they'll have to work themselves in," Versyp said. "But the first three teams we play, they play a lot of guards, so a lot of times we play undersized anyway."

Purdue will have no choice now. It'll start the season with only sophomore Ae'Rianna Harris and freshman Dani Lawson in its front court and will add wing Andreona Keys to that mix, as well.

"We'll just push Keys right there (at the 4) immediately and we can do some really good things," Versyp said. "We're undersized but athletic and quick, and hopefully defensively can do some really good things and get up and down the floor."

Farquhar has a knee injury, while Diagne has a stress reaction in her ankle/foot. Kiesler's issue is unknown, but she's expected out for a longer period.
