Indinia is 6-0 and . . .

62 isn’t that old and if he wants to win a championship he’ll have to leave to do it. He’s going to be a hot commodity this off-season. Brohm had only won 7 games his first season and already had UT calling.
A blue blood is NOT hiring a 62 yr old. There is a reason 62 gets you social security. BTW, he is 63 and would be 64 when STARTING a job somewhere else.

Instead of asking passive-aggressive questions, it would be better if you just plain said what you mean. It’s a Purdue board; if you have something negative/nasty to say about the IU Football team? Go for it!

So if you think the James Madison transfers really followed Cignetti to IU primarily because of an NIL payday, just say so.

No, it wasn’t because of a particular academic program. Not many IU players are in the Jacobs or Kelley schools, and not many Purdue players are studying mechanical engineering. And that’s fine.

They came because they were originally recruited to an FCS program, they believe in their coach, and they had a chance to play for him at a P4 program.
How do you know that is why they came?

You might want to tap the brakes on your public disgust over schools employing mercenary basketball and football players.
You know, glass houses and everything...
That Purdue does it does not make it less disgusting, "Baxter",

Have your experiences taught you that you might be wrong?
Like with these gems in that last post:
“not a fan of the idiots that post on this forum.”
“I dislike people who call other people names“

Surely the most clueless, narcissistic, “hey look at me” poster I’ve seen on any forum…

I think Card lost his confidence in a terrible offense. He’s shown he can be good.
Sorry but I call bullshit on this.

Card bolted UT because he was demonstrated to be ineffective.

I see the same thing happening in west Lafayette, unfortunately…..

They most definitely would. He’ll get a $10 million a year offer from someone.
Agree. From the interviews I’ve watched he seems energetic and hungry. He’s a good coach. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the top programs have already put feelers out his way.

If Dolson is smart, he’s talking to Cignetti’s agent right now about doubling his salary.

Cignetti in an interview two weeks ago on their bye week was asked about his future plans. He plans to coach 10 years, feels he can do that. "My wife loves Bloomington, I do too". So they have no plans to go anywhere BUT he did say in the world of college coaching things can change, then mentioned the AD and Prez were great to work for. I instantly thought if one were to leave, he might then look elsewhere. But as it stands now, he is not leaving for any amount of money. BTW ... IU has the cash to pay him if needed. His contract was already extended a year and a raise in pay for winning 6 games with more options ahead. He said he has found a place he likes, his staff likes Bloomington and IU plus they love working for him. THEY and HE are home every night by 8pm. Tom and his LEO crew used to be there past midnight.

IMO, which doesn't mean much I know, Purdue made the same mistake IU made when they hired a GOOD assistant coach, both were defensive coaches with no head coach experience. That doesn't work well in P4 athletics. Cignetti will be in IU for the rest of his coaching career.

I'm still a purdue fan. just not a fan of the idiots that post on this forum.

I give props to teams that deserve them. idinana deserves props. they are now 7-0 and just destroyed Nebraska, and their starting QB sat out the entire second half.

Purdue is not deserving of props.

Indiana hired a coach who had been a head coach for 14 years. Purdue hired a guy who was an assistant. it does make a difference.

I dislike people who call other people names, and berate other colleges just because it's not the one you graduated from. I also dislike people who berate people just because they are not jocks, or of the same race, religion, sex, or political agreement as you may be. I also dislike people who say they are Christian and sure don't act that way.

have I made myself clear ?
I would also add that I dont like people who make other people's business, their business. You know, the people who cant mind their own business and go around, honking like geese about something.

How did he prove to be ineffective at Texas?

We all know Purdue hoops and gridsters are paid - at least some of them. We just don't know how much and how it compares with IU's mercenary teams.
The teams they have played this year have a combined one loss of 22 wins and 28 losses.
Only two teams have winning records, Maryland at four and three in Nebraska at five and two.
And the remaining games are with Michigan Michigan State in Ohio State.
Don’t get me wrong they’re better than Purdue, but they played the competition and will have to see what they do against Ohio State

62 isn't necessarily old but a program like Auburn, Florida State, Oklahoma, USC that could be looking for a new coach could see 62 as too old. Indiana definitely doesn't have near the money to compete with those guys either. So it'd have to hope he just wants to stay.
Indiana will be paying him a LOT this year. He had a lot of performance bonuses in his contract they probably didn’t think they would ever have to pay

No but they should be able to afford it a little better(and I mean just a little) after selling out the rest of the year.

Sure they played a weak schedule... And they've smoked that schedule so far. As in the largest point margin in CFB. Can only play who is in front of you right? Gotta make the most of it.

Try not to wet your clown pants thinking about it.
