And Bama lost to two 'not so good' teams (and one good team, albeit a team that lost at OSU by more than IU did). Bama finished in a six-way tie for fourth in their conference.

Bama lost a close one to 3-5 in conference Vandy and got absolutely demolished by 2-6 Oklahoma.
