They talk constantly about Purdue and it’s 95% positive. In that video, they said he might be a first team all American. I think if anything, the TKR criticism was going out on a limb to find something negative to say about Purdue so that they don’t appear to be biased, but BoilerDaddy said it best.

TKR should be cocky. He will be an AA and push for BTPOTY vs Braden.

I’m not a huge fan, just because their business model, which is very common, is to say whatever they think will get views, whether positive or negative. The model works though, as evidenced by this thread..

You’re right, right now they’re generally glowingly positive on Purdue.

I think this take is a bit harsh. The Sleepers guys have more insight and knowledge than most anybody out there. They constantly praise CMP and the program. It's the offseason so they need content. They probably took TKR's comments a bit too far, but overall their show is stellar.

Their episode about Ertel was really solid and I haven't heard anybody else out there praise Ertel's skillsets and hype him up as much.

yea I like the guys, Greg , who is a UM grad, totally loves Smith and gives him alot of props, me personally, being a PU grad, I don't think I could do that for a UM player. They are more than fair to Purdue in their assessment of Purdue

I watch Sleepers mainly due to offseason boredom and they post a lot of Big Ten (especially Purdue) content. Not religiously, but occasionally.

I really don't understand the hate that they receive. They are a youtube podcast that has some good takes and some bad takes. It's not a Purdue podcast, it's a basketball podcast. The overwhelming majority of the content is complimentary of Purdue, the program, Painter, and the players.

We have a program that in the last three years has had the worst loss in tournament history, a national title runner up, and a solid sweet 16 run. There are going to be all kind of takes with that track record being in recent memory. I don't see how some people take their takes so personally.

Braden Smith watches and likes the podcast. Almost all them have picked Purdue to win the title. They all love Painter. They all have said we had the best offseason. The adds Purdue did were perfect.

It's the offseason and they are making content. Some might be controversial or for clicks. who cares?

Real news doesn't even exist anymore. Liberals flock to MSNBC and CNN for their "real" news and conservatives flock to "Fox News" for their "real news" If you want a podcast that does nothing but fluff Purdue, run by only Purdue fans, there are plenty. Find an echo chamber at Boilerinthestands or BoilerUpload.

Having our fans constantly complain (and send weird threats) to Sleepers because they sometimes have weird takes, while almost ALWAYS posting positive things about the program, is so bizarre to me. They are a Michigan and MSU fan, there is no way I could run a podcast and be as complimentary to another Big Ten school, as they are to Purdue.

No one flocks to CNN anymore, trust me. They've managed to make liberals and conservatives hate them.

But yeah, Sleepers has a national presence and constantly talk us up 90 percent of the time. Seems to me that's good for recruiting.

I watch all the news channels and as a liberal, I agree CNN has definitely taken a step backwards I've been reading AP News for a more neutral perspective, Fox and Newsmax for the crazy and MSNBC is my personal favorite from a commentary perspective. More Chris Hayes than Rachel Maddow though. I think you have to know all sides

Which is why I like Sleepers Media. They aren't Homer Purdue guys like Hammer and Rails, Boiler Upload and such but they are real and give us a lot of love even when it pains them. I'm not a snowflake and I doubt TKR is either. Calling him cocky is a compliment not a slam. He needs to be cocky but hungry. Confident because he knows they have the tools, but unsatisfied and hungry because they have always come up short. Two seasons ago we got yo the championship game, this year we need to win it.
