They lost to ipfw. How in the world does this happen. I thought they were suppose to be great, ha ha

There are 2-3 trolls that could explain it to us, however, I bet they are scarce after this loss. It is the only reason I celebrate it just a bit.

Normally I root for BIG against the world, but the troll invasion has reversed my feelings on the matter.

Laugh all you want. IU was worse last November and still won the Big Ten. It's a long season.

Their BIG schedule is a little tougher this year.
It's a shame the BIG title isn't what it used to be.
Even though I'm not a proponent of a one and done tournament, but the BIG Tourney winner is probably the best indicator of the BIG conference champion.

IU has a lot more talent then they did last year too. Yes, I know, Tom Crean is the HC.

I am happy for Bryson Scott ! ! The kid had a big game in bloomington the last time we beat them and now he had another big game against them. Too bad he didn't work out, but I'm still smiling for him ! At a boy Bryson : )

This was a who dat daddy level game. Bryson Scott showed em who their daddy is. Bryson said listen up and listen good. Fort Wayne level. Number 3 ranked IU got lil daddy spank. They came in thinking they had an auto-win locked up. They had this game chalked up in the win column long before today. Then Bryson Scott came in and said who dat daddy. He showed em who the big boss man is.

The two teams in the BIG tourny championship didn't make it out of the first round last year...

It was a who dat daddy event. If only Bryson Scott could be on Purdue's football team this Saturday. He'd probably show Purdue's football coaching staff more about defense than their whole staff knows. I like winners. Bryson Scott is a winner. He didn't care he just came and shoved IU around like they were his whimpering geek. He geek shoved that team today and disciplined them. He humbled Bloomington. He took humble pie and rubbed in to the face style. Daddy of a who dat. He didn't lick. He didn't lolly around without a purpose. He stormed IU and he pulled their flag down with a dance stomp. That is the attitude I like to see out of a player. Never accepting anything but win at all cost. Purdue constantly goes out there acting like the game goes on forever. Even tonight they did. That's not how the game is played. The game is played like there is one second left on the clock at all times. That's how you win. Bryson did just that tonight. He played with fury and with rage. That's the kind of attitude it takes.

I don't think Bryson has ever lost to the loosiers! He has been a thorn in Crean's side!

That's why I'm not a big fan of a one and done tournament. You don't have that in the pros for a reason.
But as lopsided as the regular season schedules are, the BIG tournament is probably the best indicator of the best team.

Agree with your first few points, but could not disagree more on the last one...the schedule imbalance definitely can impact who wins the conference regular season title, but, to win the B1G (even with the schedule imbalance), a team has to play good for more than two months, stay healthy generally, and win the games that it is supposed to in conjunction with some that it is not...it is not what it once was, but it is still a tremendous accomplishment.

I got a kick out of all the praise heaped on Crean after the game for traveling to FW...wow what a grueling test...travel within the state, to play in front of a crowd that will be largely pro-IU, against a team that is significantly less talented.

The same way that Georgia St. nearly beat Purdue (and should have for that matter), never mind on Purdue's home floor...thus, laugh if you wish...and I don't blame you at all for doing so, as I am enjoying what happened as much as anyone else admittedly, but, the shoe was real close to being on the other foot just a few days ago and rest assured that the feeling from the other side would have been mutual.

Could not agree more...feint praise for sure, and not even worthy of that.

Crean has tried to get it so that he plays no true road games, and he basically pulled that off this year, which is simply a ridiculous notion, and an inexcusable action.

To his credit, he has tried to play in-state teams and he has gone away from Assembly Hall to do so...Purdue has done it in the past (Valpo and Ball St.), but it has not done so in a long time. But, to see it as some noble action is not right or fair either.

Amen. I threw up in my mouth listening to the IPFW coach after the game. I get why he said it, makes him look really good. But if you live anywhere close to the Fort you know that this was anything but a "road" game.

One of my best friends lives there (Purdue alum went to North Side) said something like 7,000+ came from the Bloomington/Indy area. It seats about 13,000, correct? With locals, what would you estimate, 75% Indiana University fans?

While I also root for the B1G in general, I NEVER root for IU in any situation. The only way I can see rooting for them is if their win would secure us the B1G championship. Otherwise, I root for IU to lose every game every single season.

Same...

Coffman was on local radio here in Indianapolis on Monday actually, and he was outstanding...very engaging and had a great interview...so much so that the host said that they were going to make him a regular for the show as he was just very entertaining and very good. ESPN had him on last night as well, and he was great on there...and the hosts loved him as well.

He said all of the right things, and, he was genuine I think in his being thankful to Crean for bringing IU to Ft. Wayne to play the game...but, it was a virtual home game for IU no doubt and to suggest otherwise is just wrong.

It was fun to watch...reminded me of a game years ago when Homer Drew and Valpo had beat Digger Phelps and ND in Valparaiso.

I get why coaches don't like to play those games...and Crean not only regrets it, but likely won't do it again...but, it is a game that may actually help him and IU in some regards...it is great for college basketball in general, as it gives a lot of fans that can't see IU otherwise the opportunity to do so...and I like those kinds of games...I liked when Purdue played at Valpo a couple of times (and I went to the games)...I liked when Purdue played at Ball St., and went to the last one there.

I think there were some compelling reasons for Crean to schedule that game...a "home" game for Blackmon...a game with a satellite program...a road game that was a virtual home game as we have said...and a safe game from the standpoint that they never envisioned losing (which might have been the biggest problem).

I would not even root for them in that scenario...if they happened to win, so be it, but I would not root for them to win.

My cousin is a big IU fan and went last night. He said 80%+ were IU.

I wish PU would come play here. Not likely, especially now!!

All I know is Crean's muscles looked ripped last night..........kinda matched what IPFW did to his butthole

Plus he said no one else would come to FW like IU, but MSU and ND both did....and won.

getting to the BTT championship game had more to do with the teams play that the selection committee determing in who plays who ...when...where?

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Purdue play up there. Be lots of fans rooting for Purdue. Should be able to get the win unless you just don't show up like IU did.

I'll agree with that sentiment. I want IU to lose in everything...every single time when it comes to discussing athletics. Same goes for ND. It could be the IU Quidditch team...I want them to lose.

most people don't realize the ferocity of tom crean and how he intimidiates the opposing team.

I cant wait to see how far inside haas mind he gets... haas might be too dumb to realize that crean is intimidating him... but im sure crean will get to him
