Laugh all you want. IU was worse last November and still won the Big Ten. It's a long season.
Their BIG schedule is a little tougher this year.
It's a shame the BIG title isn't what it used to be.
Even though I'm not a proponent of a one and done tournament, but the BIG Tourney winner is probably the best indicator of the BIG conference champion.

The two teams in the BIG tourny championship didn't make it out of the first round last year...Their BIG schedule is a little tougher this year.

I don't think Bryson has ever lost to the loosiers! He has been a thorn in Crean's side!I am happy for Bryson Scott ! ! The kid had a big game in bloomington the last time we beat them and now he had another big game against them. Too bad he didn't work out, but I'm still smiling for him ! At a boy Bryson : )
Pictured: Crean attempting to solve Bryson ScottThey lost to ipfw. How in the world does this happen. I thought they were suppose to be great, ha ha
That's why I'm not a big fan of a one and done tournament. You don't have that in the pros for a reason. The two teams in the BIG tourny championship didn't make it out of the first round last year...
Agree with your first few points, but could not disagree more on the last one...the schedule imbalance definitely can impact who wins the conference regular season title, but, to win the B1G (even with the schedule imbalance), a team has to play good for more than two months, stay healthy generally, and win the games that it is supposed to in conjunction with some that it is not...it is not what it once was, but it is still a tremendous accomplishment.Their BIG schedule is a little tougher this year.

Keep up the good work Gramps, you have over 1,200 posts and zero likes. Obviously you're really popular on your home board too!!!!The two teams in the BIG tourny championship didn't make it out of the first round last year...
The same way that Georgia St. nearly beat Purdue (and should have for that matter), never mind on Purdue's home floor...thus, laugh if you wish...and I don't blame you at all for doing so, as I am enjoying what happened as much as anyone else admittedly, but, the shoe was real close to being on the other foot just a few days ago and rest assured that the feeling from the other side would have been mutual. They lost to ipfw. How in the world does this happen. I thought they were suppose to be great, ha ha
Could not agree more...feint praise for sure, and not even worthy of that.I got a kick out of all the praise heaped on Crean after the game for traveling to FW...wow what a grueling test...travel within the state, to play in front of a crowd that will be largely pro-IU, against a team that is significantly less talented.
Amen. I threw up in my mouth listening to the IPFW coach after the game. I get why he said it, makes him look really good. But if you live anywhere close to the Fort you know that this was anything but a "road" game.Could not agree more...feint praise for sure, and not even worthy of that.
Crean has tried to get it so that he plays no true road games, and he basically pulled that off this year, which is simply a ridiculous notion, and an inexcusable action.
To his credit, he has tried to play in-state teams and he has gone away from Assembly Hall to do so...Purdue has done it in the past (Valpo and Ball St.), but it has not done so in a long time. But, to see it as some noble action is not right or fair either.

There are 2-3 trolls that could explain it to us, however, I bet they are scarce after this loss. It is the only reason I celebrate it just a bit.
Normally I root for BIG against the world, but the troll invasion has reversed my feelings on the matter.

I would not even root for them in that scenario...if they happened to win, so be it, but I would not root for them to win. While I also root for the B1G in general, I NEVER root for IU in any situation. The only way I can see rooting for them is if their win would secure us the B1G championship. Otherwise, I root for IU to lose every game every single season.
My cousin is a big IU fan and went last night. He said 80%+ were IU.One of my best friends lives there (Purdue alum went to North Side) said something like 7,000+ came from the Bloomington/Indy area. It seats about 13,000, correct? With locals, what would you estimate, 75% Indiana University fans?

Plus he said no one else would come to FW like IU, but MSU and ND both did....and won.Amen. I threw up in my mouth listening to the IPFW coach after the game. couldn't possibly agree more about creans muscles... the man is an absolute animal... so sculpted. so desirableAll I know is Crean's muscles looked ripped last night..........kinda matched what IPFW did to his butthole
getting to the BTT championship game had more to do with the teams play that the selection committee determing in who plays who ...when...where?The two teams in the BIG tourny championship didn't make it out of the first round last year...
