  1. First of all, donate to cancer research in his name. Having gone through this with my late wife, I know that Duke, Mayo, Cleveland, Anderson....they all share knowledge, blood, tissue samples...so donate where you can and want to donate. Somewhere, some day, a magical cure will happen (I HOPE), whether discovered by a doctor, engineer, or some guy or gal looking for something else in a rain forest or jungle.
  2. Your local cancer organization does a lot of great work in your community and many times they get over-looked. Donate money and/or donate time to drive cancer patients to their treatments or volunteer time to work there for free....if Irsay can donate his plane to take Tyler to a bowl game, we can take time to volunteer at our local cancer center.
  3. Honor him by being true to your Boilers. He never wavered, he never said, "Fire Painter" or "Fire Brohm". Stay loyal through thick and thin....because he certainly did, and he did it on his death bed, going to every game he could attend. Until the end where he can no longer have that chance.
  4. We all are guilty of giving lip service...every day. Now's our chance to make that lip service a reality. If everyone that reads this forum were to give just $100 (and I know many of you can give multiples of that and never miss it) to their local cancer society, or to a specific cancer research, a ton of good would be done in Tyler's memory an name.
My heart goes out to his family, but I'll tell you they know what a brave young man they raised, and they're as proud of him as anyone could be.

May 2019 be a break through year in the battle against cancer. And may it be a great year for the Boilers.

Just my thoughts on how to really honor such a great kid and to fight on in his memory.

TD2, I know that Tyler's struggle hits home to you as you lost your dear wife to the disease. Holidays always remind us of those not at the dinner table. You are also in my thoughts at this time. Continue to be strong.

Another option is to purchase the book at tylertrentbook.com, where a portion of every book is donated towards cancer research. I took this option because I wanted to read more about his story and give financially.

Thanks. I've learned a lot since Jan. 28th, 2010. Even how to be a Purdue fan...because of her.:)
