Can we wait until that point to even talk to him? I mean if he says no at that point he really pantses us. Pat Forde claims no talks at all.

True....the wording here suggests that Purdue met his agent's price......and it could mean the agent may tentatively accept an agreement in principle.

Time for plan B- unless plan B is Spack, Holtz, or Olson. If Fleck is waiting then Purdue will get into another Butch Jones situation. There are plenty of quality coaches out there just don't pick one of the three mentioned above.
Again, I am not buying anything the agent or coach say. Herman said he had not talked to anyone and the rumors were all false. Turns out he had a deal in place. So, I would not get into a panic on whether the agent says they have or have not talked. That being said, not sure we need another mac coach.
With UT and lsu filled Purdue doesn't need to totally rush. Open up talks with multiple guys strong may be a guy to look at, boosters and primadonas may make the job harder.
the last 3 years he's 5-1 vs Navy and Boise, 27 wins the last 3 yrs., they go to bowls, no redshirting, only 15 hrs. of practice during the week. He's built and maintained their winning ways.
I don't buy any of the "we haven't talked to anyone" reports. Those lines are standard in these situations.

But that doesn't mean the search firm and his agent hasn't been talking. People keep forgetting that we are paying them to do something.

The longer the wait the worse it can go. I figured that firing Hazell mid season would lead to a quick hire. Like LSU. Like Texas.
we aren't in the same league as those 2 schools. I've been pumping Calhoun alot but like Brohn alot too but I think he'll go to Cincy when that opens up.
I'd throw Mike Norvell in there for consideration as well. Love how aggressive his teams play.
