I can't believe I'm saying this about Smith

As many of you know, I was very much against recruiting Smith and giving him a scholie. Yes, he's proven me wrong many times and I've eaten plenty of crow.
But now, I come into this tourny with an odd sense of calm knowing that we have someone who can control the game, take/make tough shots, and probably be something some of these teams haven't faced before.

I read that HP plays drop coverage on the PnR. If that's the case, Smith might score 40.
If he and TKR can get back to that magic PnR we saw earlier in the year, I think we win by 20.
And.....if we are up big late, for the love of God, please rest the starters and let the young fellas get more time on the floor just to get tourny experience.

All that is possible if Purdue makes shots they should. I have no intimate knowledge of high point, but doubt they want to play Purdue in the half court or similar to BIG teams. In my ignorance, I don't know all the D high point plays but have shown man and as you have stated Bodo Bodo (as I repeat myself) has given ground and in the very little I watched his D was best in helping out more so than defending his man. I would think High Point wants to speed Purdue up where their team quickness is at a premium (and not to be confused that Purdue shouldn't push the ball when it is there). I expect them to be in the passing lanes in man and hopefully see PUrdue with some backcuts and all the necessary little things for effective screening. Do they zone press or do they just pick up full in man? I can see Giccari and CJ as good match ups against High Point and can see Myles and Cam as physical problems on the boards primarily with Giccari, CJ, Myles and Cam getting some looks "IF" Trey does not get in foul trouble. Hopefully, Matt has worked on some tweaks that haven't been shown so far in the offense...and fundamentally getting some solid D

true a big advantage for an experienced All Big guard to dismantle teams that haven't seen them. But got to hit shots an defend too, both things this team has had plenty of issues with. They are near the bottom in 2 point D in the nation, so this puts a lot of pressure on an offence, that at times defaults too much to 2 players, while 3 watch.
