While not the most polished speaker (vbg), he is the best of the top 3 (Hazell, Shoop, Hudson) of painting a picture of reality in interviews. He's got some old school in him....doesn't appear to be a fan of throwing around glowing compliments...unless deserved.
Hazell is a much (emphasis on much) better public speaker than Hope. However he has morphed into Hope when describing players. Hope's go to phrase was "difference maker". Substitute "special" or "going to be good"...for "difference maker"....and you can't really get anything substantive on players anymore from Hazell. I didn't have a problem with Hope throwing around sunshine for players....and don't with Hazell either. However as a fan you almost have to disregard most of Hazell's comments...and just wait and watch once the games start.
