How was everyone's experience at Gooseshit Stadium yesterday?

I understand hating IU sports and fans but the campus is a good one.

Honest question ... do you really not like forests? Or nature? I guess you have NYC in your handle. Prefer buildings and infrastructure?

I personally don't think the campus is notable in any way. Something weird I've always done is check out the nearby college campus whenever I travel. I was surprised at how bland IU's campus was. Certainly not the beauty that many of their fans brag about.

They had a couple dorms that looked like they belong in the Soviet block. I remember there was a lot of chain link fences around them too. I don't like how Assembly Hall, Memorial Stadium, Wells Library, School of Education, Psych Building, Music Center, or the Art Museum looks. Seriously, google some of those buildings.... way too much concrete and modern architecture for me.

The campus is average at best... I honestly prefer Purdue's, which strikes a nice balance of being pragmatic (close proximity of buildings) and beauty (all the fountains and little points of interest around Purdue are very nice). I like the mostly red brick architecture and cohesive feel to IU's concrete buildings rising up out of woods.

The whole experience at IU is just a mess. They have walnut closed on game day, one of the main thoroughfares. If coming in from the next exit, you have to turn left across traffic to pull into the church, which is one of the main pay parking spots on the north side. 50-75 deep lines to get through metal detectors to get into the stadium. The concourse has water dripping from the seats above. 1/2 the concession stands were closed. One of the main and most significant drips was right over the front of one of the concessions stands that was open. Needed a poncho to get some popcorn.

We had similar experiences. Coming south, I skipped the Walnut street exit and went to 45. Took only one light to get through, but had to be better than trying to turn left from Walnut onto 45.

Got there early enough to not have a problem turning left into the church, but it is absolutely inexcusable to have the kind of traffic issues they have. They've got to close some streets, make some one way in, one way out.

Didn't go to the concessions, because we were seated in the mess of a north end zone, with only one aisle for that entire area.

Heard about the concessions, some being closed, some running out of basics. That's not the first year. I can remember years past when they were out of hot chocolate at halftime of a game with cold weather. It's almost like they have no idea . . .

Finally, new bathrooms are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too small.

Anybody else have seats in the upper part of the SE stands? For the record, this isn't my photo. I took one on my phone, but found a Tweet from somebody else who had the same experience we did.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This is very emblematic of their entire football program. Seriously, WTF? DISGUSTING. Does nobody even do a casual walkthrough of the stadium on the morning of game day to make sure there aren't problems like this??? How does that NOT get addressed????

Very solid turnout by Purdue fans yesterday. Disappointing crowd overall - maybe 36-38k (reality is nowhere near the 48k they published in the box score) - but probably half of them were Purdue fans. Surprised at the low turnout of IU fans considering the Notre Dame game didn't kick off until 8:00 PM.

(Lack of)courtsense is upset about the goose poop and intends to call the IU facilities people and demand an explanation. I am quite confident that they will jump to comply when they hear from him

I can confirm. I was part of that group.

That crap has likely been there for weeks, and nobody noticed.

Bucket game was highest announced attendance of the year, correct? I think PSU was next at 41k. They had several games under 40k.

So the seats my large group was in ($50 a piece btw) on the endzone to 5ish yard line honestly haven't been used since OSU or Mich last year.

But here's the thing: some posters are suggesting it is OK because it is the visitor's side of tne stadium. In fairness, a poster did call them out on that. Someone else still claims photoshop.

Imagine paying $70/ticket and finding that. I'd sue for being exposed to a health hazard.

I was on the other side of the field from where that pic was taken and there was $hit on our seats too. We had to change sections.

He's claiming that it happened Saturday morning and that IU didn't know about it until it was too late to address it. That's a lie. The poop was in the east and west stands, but it also hit part of the field and the new south end zone building. Guess what? The field and the seating area in the south end were cleaned well before Saturday, when the mess was supposedly discovered, but they couldn't or wouldn't deal with the grandstands, thinking it would wash away in the rain. They're embarrassed by it and the AD is pissed, but Courtsense is FOS with his BS story.

That's artificial turf at IU, correct?

Only in Bloomington are the geese so stupid as to try to graze on artificial turf.

Our friend(lack of)courtsense has all the answers:

"The school" didn't say anything and the bird poop problem happened Sat AM.

You are really struggling here, I don't want to be mean to you Should you have some learning disability, but good grief."

Now you have the "straight poop" on the matter. LOL
