Horvath with the fastest 40. Who'd-a-thunk it?

Faster than a speeding linebacker. More powerful than a down lineman. Able to leap tall defenders in a single bound. Bigger to boot. Now that’s an NFL Combine.

Imagine, having superior Pro Day numbers without quitting on the team before the bowl game.

Only two things ever surprised me about Zander Horvath. One was the fact he rarely exploded for numbers in step with Purdue greats -- although that’s hard to do when your run-blocking means your linemen are impeding your own backs. The other is how so many here expressed their underestimations of his actual assets and potential, although his trip on a pack of Huskies sure didn’t help.

Anxious to see what he can do with some holes for a change.

Ouchie.

Are there any NFL corners who ran a 40 that slow?

I did a quick look, but haven't found any corner that runs that slow...

This would explain why they had him playing off the receiver by 5 to 7 yards at the line and why he would get beat downfield quite a bit. We must have been in pretty rough shape at corner if a guy this slow was starting...

I’m guessing the slowest 40 time corners in the NFL are the 6’-3” plus ones, like Sherman.

And Sherman made Georgia howl.

Like Civil War history a lot. Gettysburg 3x, Appomattox Courthouse 1x, and Fort Sumter 1x.

Great places! Especially Gettysburg. The whole Appomattox Court House village looks like 1865. Should serve as a movie set. I’d also recommend Antietam, Harpers Ferry and Lookout Mountain for memorable views, among many others. Heck, we even did Fort McAllister and Bennett’s Place, where Sherman accepted the last big surrender (actually bigger in numbers). Didn’t care for Bull Run -- don’t like losing once, let alone twice -- but we followed Grant through Virginia, just like Horvath’s 164 yards overrunning iu.
