HILARIOUS - Hunter Johnson back in the transfer portal

And, Alabama wants to claim credit for Olan Mills founding in Tuscaloosa. 🤔
This made me curious, so I checked with my neighbor who worked in sales for Olan Mills for 28 years. And he confirmed they did actually start in business in Alabama. 99.99% of people who live in Chattanooga would be surprised at this just like I was.

They list two, but wasn't the point.

I doubt we could name one player who was 3rd on the QB depth chart, whose coach encouraged him to enter the portal.

Again, I doubt any coach "advises" their #3 QB to enter the portal.
I don't think Brohm encouraged Plummer to enter the portal...Alaimo and Burton both came back as well, thus, safe to assume they did not get that advice either.

I do wish Dan Devine had advised Joe Montana to leave back in the day...

Gunner only transferred once. He had a good career at UC until an off the field issue derailed his career.
He bounced around without actually transferring though...another case where it seemed like he had some bad advice internally along the way, but, he did find a home at UC and did have success there prior to his injury. I don't think talent was ever really an issue, much less THE issue, with him.

He changed commitments. Who gives a shit

Did I miss where someone really did?

As for the matter at hand, the thread was taking a shot at Johnson for leaving multiple times along the way to find a home where he actually could be THE GUY...that is really close to the same thing that Kiel had done, so, I assume that is how his name even got brought up/into the thread.

Kiel didn’t leave anywhere multiple times. He transferred once

He bailed on 3 programs...and, went from a national recruit and P5 to a lower level program...in the end, it will likely match what Johnson did/does, save the actually having shown up on multiple campuses.

He committed to a couple programs. He was indecisive as to where to go to college. The horror, amirite

he only transferred once and played up to his billing until injury

Number 4 on the depth chart at ND was not playing to his billing.
He "played up to his billing" when he ultimately landed at a non-Power 5 school, and, after changing his mind (multiple times), and, transferring...literally may be the same thing that happens ultimately for/with Johnson...for that matter, UC may not be a bad landing spot for Johnson at this point.

Hunter Johnson transferred in HS (went to Brownsburg) to get out of the shadow of Brandon Peters (Avon).

It is utterly amazing the amount of talent coming out of Hendricks county over the past 10-20 years.
Agree. I have lived in Hendricks County for 30 years. Avon has supplied several volleyball players to Purdue. The RB Sampson is also from Avon and will hopefully help our FB team next season. Austin Burgette played BB at Notre Dame. Kendall Griffin played BB at Wright State and his sister played VB at Purdue. I know both the Peters and Johnson families. Both are great families. Football seems not to have panned out they way they hoped for both Brandon and Hunter. Both were great in high school. Both had some injury issues in college and Hunter's mom developed cancer as well. Had they gone to Purdue, would things have been different? Maybe.

No doubt.

You omitted an MLB World Series Champion and All Star, a Super Bowl Champion, an NBA all star, and a gaggle of high-end professional and collegiate players from Brownsburg.

Grad school, better weather and not in Chicago. Seems like a no brainer to me.

If you are going to hold a clip board, might as well do it somewhere nice.
I meant for them but then I read more into it and it looks like he left on good terms and they don’t mind having him as a third stringer. Even northwestern fans are happy for him.. so am I

I figured that was what you meant and that was I attempt at a joke, but yeah, I figured he left on good terms since they wanted him back. But definitely shows the importance of not burning bridges on the way out, which you see some players do. You just never know.

And maybe he wants to get into coaching? Good place to start a career.
