Hegseth is the worst

What an absolute drunken idiot. Only he could make Hillary look competent with technology and security.
If he was the one who actually did it, he should be canned. If he wasn’t , whoever did should be canned.

Blame the press. Blame Biden.............who, contrary to what the esteemed SecDef implied, had been attacking the Houthis for more than a year.

Not a serious person.

Waltz probably is largely to blame for the meeting debacle.

Hegesth’s worst moments are during this impromptu press conference when he goes all Trump-like, and blames the media followed by a flat-out lie about what happened. Our military believes in honor and integrity, and those flat out lies are a really bad look.

These are the kind of things that happen when you put a guy like Hegseth who’s never run any organization in charge of a massive government operation. His primary experience is as an over opinionated talkshow host commentator, and amateur hour mistakes are destined to follow.

He should have enough integrity to say "We aren't doing this meeting on a random ass app". Might as well hold it on TikTok next time.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said there’s “no doubt” that Russia and China were monitoring the U.S. officials’ devices used for a war plan text chat.

“I will guarantee you, 99.99 percent with confidence, Russia and China are monitoring those two phones.” “So I just think it’s a security violation, and there’s no doubt that Russia and China saw this stuff within hours of the actual attacks on Yemen or the Houthis.”

National security adviser Mike Waltz reportedly invited The Atlantic’s editor, Jeffrey Goldberg, into the Signal group, in which Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared secret war plans.

Bacon, a former Air Force Brigadier General and a member of the House Armed Services committee, said he always was concerned about Hegseth, an Army veteran who was a longtime Fox News host.

Bacon called the group chat, which also included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President Vance, a “gross error.”

“They intentionally put highly classified information on an unclassified device,” he told CNN. “I would have lost my security clearance in the Air Force for this and for a lot less.”

Did I miss something? My memory is not great anymore, but did the Houthis fire on US warships 174 times during the Biden administration? Were the Houthis allowed to seal off the Red Sea, forcing ships to spend billions more to sail around the Horn? Did we have severe supply shortages because of this?

Now, we have a magazine editor whose circulation is built on creating hoaxes made a claim. Is it real? It jolly well could be.

However, the bottom line is how effective the attacks on the Houthis are??? If commercial ships can go through the Red Sea within a few months, we must give Hegseth an A+, even if the Atlantic turns out accurate. If the submission of the Houthis also leads to a Middle East truce, we have to raise Hegset's grade.

From the 100% pro-Trump Daily Mail:

"Trump is privately furious, raging in colourful language at the 'stupidity' of Waltz and others. I called a close aide of the President for a heads up on the situation.

'The President is on the rampage,' I was told. 'It's not safe to talk. I'm keeping my head down.' He then hung up.

Nor will it have escaped Trump's attention that his vice president, for all his public displays of loyalty, is developing policies of his own. The Signal texts show, beyond doubt, that Vance was skeptical of the need to strike the Houthis.

Yes, they've been attacking shipping in the Red Sea en route to the Suez Canal for over a year. But, argued Vance, very little US trade passes through the Suez Canal, which connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean, whereas '40 percent of European trade does'.

So, attacking the Houthis would benefit Europe far more than America.

'I am not sure the President is aware how inconsistent this is with his message on Europe right now,' Vance said, adding that, while he would support the consensus of the other top officials in the chat, 'I just hate bailing Europe out again.'

In the end Vance was placated by a suggestion that Europe could be sent the bill for the military action (good luck with that) and the insistence of Stephen Miller, a senior White House aide, that the attack was the President's will.

In the end JD Vance was placated by a suggestion that Europe could be sent the bill for the military action (good luck with that) and the insistence of Stephen Miller, a senior White House aide, that the attack was the President's will.

In front of a congressional committee on Tuesday, a nervous Tulsi Gabbard refused even to confirm she'd participated in the chat.

Trump will be fine with Vance's visceral anti-Europeanism, which we've seen before but never in such raw and stark terms.

But he will be suspicious of Vance's freelancing on foreign policy, especially since the reason for attacking the Houthis is not to do the Europeans a favour but to cripple the one Iranian proxy group left in the region (after the demise of Hamas and Hezbollah) which is still a military threat to America's interests.

Vance's forays into foreign policy often reveal him to be out of his depth in complicated matters. But in his distaste for Europe, he is very much in sync with the rest of the Trump administration.

Even Hegseth got in on the act, telling Vance on Signal that he 'fully' shared his 'loathing of European free-loading. It's PATHETIC.'

Long after the row over security breaches dies down, what we have learned about the Trump administration's unvarnished attitude to Europe could well turn out to be the most significant feature of the Signal scandal. It has gone from mere animosity to outright hostility.

If Europe's leaders still don't realise, they're now on their own – after the revelations from the Signal chatroom, they cannot be in any doubt.

BY THE WAY: If Trump is furious and privately raging at Hegseth and Waltz? That is absolutely warranted and well-done by Trump. It would be far better though, if he did not appoint sycophant amateurs like Hegseth in the first place. And both Hegseth and Waltz are lying and counter-accusing as a reaction, which is a TERRIBLE reaction. Hegseth even said that nothing texted was classified. So would he be okay with The Atlantic printing the entirety of what was mistakenly texted to Goldberg?

From the Editor of the very conservative National Review:
"In my view, the most egregious behavior was Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s. (The stupidest was National Security Adviser Mike Waltz’s adding of Goldberg to the conversation in the first place.)

Pete Hegseth — the top civilian in the Department of the Defense and a man who has command authority over U.S. military operations worldwide — texted information, over an unsecured channel, that “contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing.” That’s shocking, egregious, and totally outrageous.

President Trump should demand Pete Hegseth’s resignation. Today.

A question now hangs over this administration: Will there be accountability under Trump — or does the buck stop nowhere, as it did for the previous four years?"

By far the highest position that Pete Hegseth held was as a Captain in the Minnesota National Guard.

That is honorable service, but in NO WAY makes him prepared to be the Secretary of Defense. He has been in private industry for the majority of his work career. That is why he will continue to make serious mistakes in a role where few mistakes are inconsequential.

Is this the first and only time he has texted extremely sensitive military plans over a private company app that can and is easily monitored by the Russians and Chinese?

Whattabout whattabout whattabout.

Are you also still surveilling DC pizza parlors for nine year old child sex rings run by Hillary? How about the bloody Vince Foster knife from 32 years ago?
Again, just how much of a crisis was it? An accidental breach of security that cause no harm by the Trump adminstration and the NY Times and other far-left news outlets are going ballistic, totally apeshit 24/7. Four years of total disregard of Top Secrat security by Hillary, no problem.

Waltz accidentally invited the reporter.

They didn’t accidentally use Signal.

Hegseth didn’t accidentally lie and say there were no war plans or classified materials discussed.

If Hegseth is being honest, then Goldberg should be free to share the entirety of the messages he saw, right?

Waltz just blamed the reporter on Faux News of course.

Since Hegseth and Gabbard lied and stated that the messages Goldberg received were not classified, The Atlantic just released these "not-classified" messages to the public:

An example of the supposedly "not-classified" messages that Hegseth sent to the group over an unsecure private app monitored by the Russians?

good lord.
The Republican position is that this is not confidential information, yes.

When white men jack things up they are a competent team. Just the mere presence of blacks in an administration, it’s DEI.
Hey! Let's play multiple guess!! 😃

Here's the question of the day: The top level Trump Cabinet gets on a private company app that is monitored by the Russians and is only supposed to be used for scheduling. They invite a private citizen journalist and discuss the '2.5 hour in the future' classified attack plan on a foreign adversary. THIS IS THE FAULT OF:
  1. The app designer
  2. The fakety-fakety-fake news journalist
  3. The fakety-fakety-fake news' off the record source, Mike Waltz
  4. Joe Biden
  5. Hunter Biden
  6. Ranger the Dog Biden
  7. The false flag Newtown Connecticut crisis actors
  8. Hillary Clinton
  9. Black people
  10. Trans people
  11. Immigrants!!
  12. YES!!! IT MUST BE THE FAULT OF IMMIGRANTS!!!
  13. Greenland
  14. Canada
  15. Rosie O'Donnell
  16. Someone Kamala Harris dated when she was 19, 29, or 39
  17. Houthi and the Blowfish
  18. Ted Cruz's assassin father
  19. NOT Pete Hegseth
  20. Whoever appointed 'NOT Pete Hegseth'

21. Nothingburger. No harm was cause by the leak. The attack was carried out successfully.

I think the actual concern is that Republicans do not think that the information regarding a future war attack is confidential information...
That comment is complete nonsense. This was an accidental leak. No harm done. Democrats and far-left news media going jackass apeshit TDS hysterical, screaming and squealing about national security after 18 million illegals walked into the US under the Biden zombie.

I don't understand what is non-sense. I am just saying I am concerned that Republicans do not think that information is classified.

Hegseth: "There's no units, no locations, no routes, no flight paths, no sources, no methods, no classified information."

Gabbard also said to the judiciary committee that classified information was not shared in the messages.

So, yeah, I mean, these are the current Republican heads of National Intelligence and Secretary of Defense saying advance plans of war attacks are not confidential information. It's not an opinion or anything. Do you really not think that is at least concerning?

The biggest f up was using an over the counter private company app to discuss the most sensitive classified information. Probably not the first time they did so.

Need to see how that amateur hour crap multiplies? This is what has become of their “too cool to set up secure calls”/Signal habit:

CIA Director Ratcliffe testified yesterday that the CIA loaded Signal onto his devices on his first day. And I posted the 2024 CISA "best practice" yesterday that calls for the use of Signal.

Not that you should let those facts detract your from your hyperventilation, which is always entertaining.

It is amazing the media is full blast on this, when our country was invaded for years and hardly a word about it. So at least now they have this and Jan 6th to justify all the crap these evil Democrats are about.

They are calling him WhiskeyLeaks. What an embarrassment. Why can't I have normal people? There's either some dude that thinks he's a girl or a DUI champion.

It's not really the media that's concerning. It's what Republicans are saying about it. The invasion is a complete non-sequitur, as it has been discussed ad-nauseum for decades by the media.

TBH, this was a human error that people can make. Nobody is perfect, and I'm sure many people have accidentally copied the wrong person on an email or text thread. Much higher stakes here, obviously, but it is understandable. And there were not any American casualties, so it's fine.

But it still really is concerning how Republicans are saying sharing military war plans is okay because it's not confidential information. And this is after the messages were published showing the contents. It's either they are just idiotic and should not be in power, or they are absolute liars. Not really an in-between. I think it's the latter. Anyone who tries to justify it should lose all credibility I think, because it was objectively a mistake and not one to take lightly.

This is NOT a policy issue, but an honesty issue for both our leaders and the press.

I'll ignore whether Signal is considered a secure messaging source for devices located in Russia for the purposes of this post.

No! It’s to be used for scheduling—NOT classified attack plans. And there was February additional guidance that is is susceptible to monitoring by foreign adversaries.

There were no " . . . advance plans of war attacks . . ." The leaked messages were about attacks occuring in real time. The attacks were not compromised. The enemy was not notified about the attack. All else in your head is far-left TDS hysteria.
