1. Braden fakes a pass the corner where no one is standing and the USC guy guarding him bites on it.
2. Colvin is acting hurt, talking to and sort of motioning to Painter that he needs to come out. It gets him all alone down the court, where he takes a cherry pick pass from Braden for a reverse slam that didn't quite make it. Still, better acting than you'll see than at the Oscars.

Mine is a weird one....

There was a sequence where Colvin missed a wide open corner 3 in 1st half. USC got the rebound and someone deflected the ball as they started to dribble. Colvin hustled to loose ball and forced a tie up. Braden then gestures to the crowd to pump them up and cheer on the hustle play and says something to Colvin. He knows Miles is frustrated about not hitting shots, but also wants him to know the little things like that lead to winning. Pretty sure Purdue scored on the next possession.

That is leadership to a T. Braden gets a lot of praise for his play, but he is also one of the best leaders I've ever seen at Purdue.

mine was TKR's first spin move and finish for 2 when the game was 37 - 25

I saw that! Loved it, but didn't the ref then come over to Braden and tell him to take it down a notch? I'm thinking "coooome ooooon." The crowd really responded when he did it. When Colvin made the tie-up, another USC player came from across the court and tried to join the scrum. Colvin and the USC player had that ball as about as tightly wrapped up as can be, I'm thinking "What's the other guy coming over for, comedy relief?" If the ref was going to say something to someone, that was the opportunity.

I had several but one of mine was Gicarri's drive and overhead no look dish to Burgess. It was a great play but also an illustration of just how well positioned the program is to continue it's run of success.

Yeah, I think Giccari is a bit more PG than CJ who is a bit more 2. I really like them both, but they will not control a game as much as Braden I don't believe. I think Purdue fans are treated to some special things/events from Braden that lie outside his scoring and assist number. That said, I think Giccari and CJ will be very good at Purdue.

Not sure that Colvin wasn't hurt, but a lot of players get well when they have a chance to score. You may be right...I don't really know.

YES. I emphasized this too in another thread. And it was Myles who sat back on the pass and then acted like a CB and deflected it to himself and then caused the tie up himself. He was on one last night, energy wise and I hope he brings that EVERY night. His shots will eventually fall, but if he brings that spark off the bench, we are in good shape.

Loves to see Smith do that for him too. Like you said, he hears the noise about his teammates and is showing his support. Was great to see.

So, I do not think Colvin was injured during this play; however, I am not sure he hasn’t had a minor injury for the last month or so. I have noticed Myles getting up and walking to the end of the bench to either stretch out his calf or hamstring throughout the season. Some of his struggles could be due to a small injury we don’t know about.

I echo others saying that he had a great game last night. Loved his hustle and heart!

Similar to what fletch dealt with second half of Frosh year where he struggled down the stretch shooting it.

Seemed like he was hit in the …well down there. He was getting screened and I think he caught a knee to the groin.
Yeah, that was it. He was nursing it at the line when they were shooting the foul, but he came off the line and moved back towards where Painter was standing. If he was able to recover that quickly and get down court for the Oh-So-Close missed reverse jam, then good for him. I may have to start calling him "Wolverine" for his healing powers. :)

Haha well he does do the “spiderman” celebration after 3s (well it’s actual Miles Morales aka Spin), but didn’t do it last night. He was all business.

But you also know players like to “milk” injuries…especially if they get beat 😂…so maybe that was the case here or he actually just needed some time to recover 🤷‍♂️

Either way, hope this game helps him get back to his old shooting ways.

The three ball Colvin nailed on the out of bounds play was smooth. Smith put it right in the pocket so he didn’t do that wind up motion he’s been doing.

Hopefully he is getting his confidence back especially with the upcoming stretch we have.
