Someone may have mentioned this in one of the game threads, but I was impressed with the play of Eifert last night. Not that I think he'll play many minutes this season, but based on last evening's performance, he could be in consideration for most improved.

He didn't look uncomfortable or out of place with the ball, goes hard after every rebound, and is a fairly physical presence on the floor. Put another year or two of strength on the kid and he could play a meaningful in-game role.

Kudos to him for putting in the work necessary to improve.

Yep I mentioned that he would be a key piece to the season and for him to be ready if foul trouble, injury or match-up dictated him in (going small).

Some Gold Member came over and told me I was wrong......

Sure if Cline, Taylor and Smotherman are available Grady's minutes may have not been there, but like MP said.....if the kids that are doing things right and get an opportunity to play, they will play in front of the kids that can't do things right.

Glad we have the depth we do and Eifert, Smotherman, Cline, Taylor, C. Edwards and Spike or PJ need to be ready when called on.

Idk if any of you watched the games we played overseas in the summer but I thought Grady looked good then. However I don't believe he will be a significant contributor in games but having quality walk ons is a nice luxury.

This is really important in practice when you are resting players or healing them. We have the scholarships, hand them out for next semester. Maybe his brother has some eligibility left and we could always use a tight end.

He and McKeeman were both put on scholarship this year. I don't expect much from him but I do think when you are a scholarship player the bar is raised. Hopefully if called on he can make a positive contribution.

From what I saw in Spain, he looked like be belonged on the court. He appears to be a solid athlete with some skills.

Yep I said it back then too...got told I have no idea what I am talking about.

But now people see he can contribute if given the minutes or called on.

He is on scholarship this year.....and yes I watched them all and commented back then he will contribute if given the opportunity.

I fully understand he is on scholarship right now but my point was that he wasn't recruited as a scholarship player. I'm not dogging him because CMP obviously liked what he saw but he earned a scholarship because we had openings and he was working hard not because he is going to be a key piece. His improvement will go unnoticed by most but his contributions in practice will be beneficial
