Gorin flips to L'Ville ?

I really do not think there was any way he could have kept him at Purdue since we all knew it was a strong possibility he would leave sooner or later and he chose sooner!
We knew he was going to U of L that day that Purdue hired him. He owned a home in Louisville throughout his tenure at WKU and Purdue, and it was widely known that was his destination school. So Purdue paid him millions to get cozy with the HS coaches in the region and he's now using that against us. Anyone who thinks he was a good hire for Purdue is too naïve to know when you’re duped.

The current recruiting class coming in is very underwhelming. Not sure if I’ve ever seen it this bad.

My guess is timing with the hire. He took what he could from UNLV and a few portal signings but I expect Purdue will be very active with future Portal additions if we have the NIL money to get them!

Except when he was here he represented us to the fullest extent and did his job.

Now do Walters…

Brohm has taken like 7 kids in 3 years from us. That’s HS and college players. All 3 of the ones that were active roster players stayed at least until after Walters told them they wouldn’t start (Miller, Allen) and/or tanked the program (Moussa).

But yeah…keep being mad at the guy for taking his dream job. It’s petty when you won’t say shit about the guy who was coach here for 2 years and clearly did t take his job seriously.

Brohm won a recruiting battle here that has surprised most of us. The best thing to do about it is to out compete him for somebody he is working hard to get. Competition is supposed to bring out the best in us. Hope very much that is true of Coach Odom.

When I saw this on the Louisville site a little while ago, was wondering whether he was a priority for the new staff. Would think that Odom would be planning a lot of portal additions this May to get Purdue back on track in a hurry. And of course if Odom’s successful, he can always lure Gorin back after Louisville has put in a couple of years developing him. It’s the business model we have these days … recruiting the entire roster very year.

Good luck to the Boilers!

It appears you do not understand what transpired. If we had hired a faithful coach instead of Brohm, there wouldn't have been a Walters. And Brohm had more than 7 Purdue portal transfers and HS flips in his first year at U of L.

He didnt. He took 3 high school recruits when he left. He did t take any current players until Walters chased off Miller and Allen after spring.

I’ve cited my #s. Cite yours.

No no no. Brohm flipped 3 HS recruits when he left. There were probably a dozen who were being recruited by both Purdue and Louisville but had not yet committed that went with Brohm at U of L. That's where the real damage was done. Brohm had spent years recruiting many of those kids at Purdue expense. That's the really insideous nature of this. Brohm's pitch was "Purdue would be a great place for you. Here's why Louisville would be better."

“Faithful coach” LMAO. Brohm could have left a lot earlier, but he stayed and resurrected the program from what he inherited. How quickly you seem to forget what we were before him. It may be time for you to come out of your daydream, because I’ve got some bad news for you on what’s going to happen if Odom, or any coach here for that matter, is successful.

Your analogy is badly broken. Of course we all understand that any successful coach wants to go up the ladder to top programs and better pay. Brohm didn't do that. He went from a Big Ten school to a lowly ACC school and took a pay cut.

A lowly ACC school that has the same or slightly better history than Purdue, and oh yeah, just happens to be his Alma mater.
