Given our Street Fight type play in the BIG just as rather skip the tournament and get ready for NCAA's.

Agree. Watching them, the refs APPEAR to have other means of payment than just their salaries by the way they do/don't do their jobs. This maul ball they have created isn't fun to watch. Trouble is a few of the NCAAT refs don't seem to be any better. Hope we survive them when we get them.

This is kind of nuts.

This ought to lead to an interesting "discussion." :)

Refs aren’t paid off. They have to play in the BTT, might as well win

Purdue needs the B1G Tournament this year--if secusecuring a #1 seed is a priority. Nothing substantial separates Purdue from UCLA right now. That last #1 seed might very well come down to which team performs better in their conference tournament.

Big game tonight, UCLA vs Arizona. If AZ wins, do they have a chance at a #1 with a win with 5 losses?

I had a similar thought. I'm interested in that UCLA/Arizona game because I haven't watched the Pac12 much this year. That's a big game, for sure.

That whole line of thinking befuddles me, is it a wonder no one wants to ref anymore? For the most part I think the officials have been fine during Purdue games, NW was one exception where I think they did a poor job. Against IU at home Purdue got a ton of calls. Games are won and lost by players, for some reasons fans have the built in excuse to accuse the refs of fixing games when their teams shoots 5-27 from 3 point land. As for the Big Ten tournament, I got my tickets, let’s win the damn thing and sweep the league in a rebuilding year.

Watching the Alabama vs. Texas A&M game, and it is very physical and poorly reffed, if you think an obvious foul is an obvious foul and should obviously be called.

In one play, an A&M player jumped for a shot and was squeezed in by 2 Bama playrs who had their hands all over him. He came down, still holding the ball. No foul call. No travel call. Not even a jump ball.

A minute later at the other end of the floor, a Bama player jumped with the ball to make a pass while being mauled by 2 A&M players. The A&M players had his arms tied up, so he came down with the ball. The refs call travelling.

Refs are calling nothing, or they are calling anything but a foul.

Power 5 Conference tournaments =

making more money and giving the garbage teams 1 last chance at March Madness.

Nothing more, nothing less.

The NCAA Selection Committee already knows where they are seeding Purdue after

the regular season is complete (99% of the time).

I’m not sold that playing 3 games in 3 days, 4 days before the NCAA starts, right after a 20 game B1G bar fight, is in our best interest.
Agree 100%!

Play the walk-ons and take the L.

Purdue will have their March Madness seed determined after the Illinois game

tomorrow by the selection committee. That's how it works 99% of the time

for teams already in the Field of 68.

Respectfully disagree, I saw plenty of games(tv) and replays where Edey was fouled 3 or 4 times and not 1 call , we have been losing 5-10 pts per game IMO on the LACK of fouls called that would change 2 of the losses for sure. If these refs are the same at the BTT , we have a higher probability of someone getting hurt vs winning it....given officiating and our slump from 3 and the foul line , I would rather REST the guys vs making sure they play because you bought tickets. Sorry.😒

It has been reported often that the seeding is a done deal before the B1G tournament champion is decided.
