Game Thread: Purdue @ Michigan State

One of the first things you are taught playing special teams, if the blocked kick heads towards your own goal line, get away from it. Too many bad things can happen. A fumble. Poor field position. Etc. Really poor decision there.

Well this should bring everyone back to earth for the balance of the season. O$U win will just be a fond memory.

Wouldn't the ball be called dead at the one regardless if he didn't pick it and advance it?

Don't think so. It would just be like a missed kick out of the field of play. My understanding of the rules is that the offense can only advance it if the kick is blocked and goes behind the line of scrimmage.

Defense can recover/return if beyond the LOS but is not required to do so.

Lombardi playing a helluva game. No poor decisions and hitting the open receiver.

Hard to blame it all on the D.
The offense has been awol all game.
Sigh...

I think Blough gets one more possession. If Sindelar is healthy enough to play, you have to give him a shot in the 4th quarter. Blough has been as bad as Sindelar was the first game against NU, minus the TO’s.

The way they're running the clock, Purdue may only get two possessions.
