Fun fact: Big Ten vs. SEC

Another interesting tidbit (that has probably been mentioned somewhere else)...The 1979 Bluebonnet Bowl against Purdue was the first time Tennessee played a Big-10 opponent.

Purdue played against SEC opponents in 1941 and 1941 (both Vanderbilt), but didn't play another until they faced UT in '79.

SEC 0-4 in bowl games so far this year. Lost to power houses Army, FIU, Houston and Texas Tech.

NYE 1979. Recall watching the game on a Mizlou TV production.

SEC 0-4 in bowl games so far this year. Lost to power houses Army, FIU, Houston and Texas Tech.
9-4 Army beat 6-7 Missouri
9-4 UCF beat 6-7 Florida
11-2 Houston beat 6-7 Auburn
7-6 Texas Tech beat 7-6 Mississippi State

Seems like the Texas Tech vs MSU game is the only one where the SEC team shouldn't have been the underdog.

I hear ya but except for Texas Tech the rest are non P5 schools. They got their won/loss playing primarily other non P5 schools.

Tennessee fan here. I’m not a sec fan I’m a Tennessee fan. I hope every sec team not named Tennessee gets beat in every bowl game. The sec winning doesn’t help Tennessee in recruiting battles.
