Forget iu recruits, could we flip any

With so many coaching changes going on right now, I think there are a lot of teams' players that Brohm and his staff are looking at. As the article said yesterday, him and his staff is going to be Recruiting, Recruiting, Recruiting....

I thought of the OL from Zionsville that played with Hartwig but he tweeted out a recommitment to Notre Dame last night after the news broke so it doesn't look like he's interested in looking around.

On one hand I'm impressed by the loyalty but on the other hand I'm also struck by the naivete of remaining so loyal to an institution that would turn its back on you in a heartbeat if they hired a new coach that decided he didn't want you (or if you got hurt and couldn't play football anymore or whatever the case may be).

Chances are that a recruit of his ranking will be wanted by whoever they hire so I don't think he's at much risk but I don't think I'd reaffirm my commitment until I saw who the new coach was and at least had a conversation with him

Not many ND recruits had Purdue as their 2nd or 3rd choice.

I am more interested in the next domino to fall and what recruits/transfers that might open up.

Notre Dame incoming recruits might reconsider but unlikely if ND elevates Marcus Freeman (former Purdue coach) or brings in Luke Fickell.

If Luke Fickell, then poach any common recruiting needs that Purdue was warm on that chose Cincinnati.
Here is a hot take...what if ND brings in Pete Carroll? At that point, portal transfers might be more of a reality.

That is a hot take. Carroll is 70. I don't see him jumping back to college scene at this point.

Don't disagree...just put it out in that it was someone that may have interest now that he did not before. That said...even more doubtful if Freeman is indeed HC there.

Won't change that I would love to see him on the field for Purdue...opposed to against them.

No question, Purdue would take him if he decided to leave, but by all accounts he loves ND. Kelly leaving doesn’t change that.

That's a very good point. I doubt we get any ND or OU recruits but both of those schools will hire new coaches, e.g. from Northwestern and Iowa State, and THOSE recruits will be saying WTF! Then NW and ISU hire new coaches, e.g. Cincy and Louisville, and in turn THOSE recruits will be saying WTF!

We could always show ND recruits tape of the offense and defense during the Hazell years with Coach Freeman

Jack Keiser...
Kiser and I went to the same high school, although he's roughly 12 years younger than I am. His brother Bryce was around my age. Purdue seemed to be his second choice and his dad and uncle ran track at Purdue. His family is Catholic, though, and his faith and the ND tradition made it his dream school.

I will be thrilled to get even one season of Jack playing for the Boilermakers.

There's plenty of catholics at Purdue. Dreams can change. Start working on him.

Bryce went to play for Brock Spack I believe...

A good family...crazy athletic genes...his cousins played basketball at Valpo (Men's) and Michigan (Women's) respectively.

Yep, at Illinois State. He was a backup rotational DE until he retired from nagging injuries before his final year of eligibility. His other brother was a four year starting QB at Pioneer and his sister has ran track on scholarship at Louisville and Ball State and won state in HS multiple times.
