I disagree, just like Alabama's stripe is so dated. Stripes are dated but that's what makes them unique now.

I don't really like the slant "P". Much like Bama's new ornate "A", I'd like to see something like this:

Didn't say it was bad. But, they did have a stripe on there helmets in and around '66. As long as they don't remove slant "P" and replace with the jersey number along with the stripe, I'm cool.
Actually my first choice is the old leather helmets that Purdue once wore. They looked like this:
Of course we can't wear real leather helmets, but we can modify new polymer helmets so that they look like leather. Texas A&M did this for some throwback uniforms a couple of years ago:

The "Motion P" was just fine until Purdue f*cked it up to what is on the helmet now.

I think it's definitely a generational thing. It's a game you have to play these days.
I'm on the younger side and I definitely dig these new helmets. Unless your Alabama or penn state, you gotta keep up with the unis for recruits.
Its look good, but we can't say that it's too good, well obviously they need to work on it more, and I suggest them to take ideas from Black Friday coupons, because yesterday in randomly searches I found much good helmet design there, I suggest them once search there.
I am an old fart but my two cents worth regarding the three helmets, absolutely loved the white one this year, just cutout the middle of the new motion P on the black ones and add the outline theme to the numbers on the Jerseys, black ones need some updated railroad tracks that are not perfect ties or go with a gold stripe maybe with the RR tracks to make your the stripe like the white helmets did with the moon steps. Gold chrome ones still look sharp. Overall on uniforms Brohm and his marketing team might be time to update the uni’s for the recruiting efforts!

How about in wingdings? I mean really make a statement!
Instead of the greys, we need to do a throwback uni every year. Highlight the Xyear anniversary of some key team. If not, do some future look type jersey maybe inspired by an older team.
I really like what we do with the black and white jerseys. Just think the Greys don't give us much variety in an alternate.

This could actually work ok as it would incorporate into the cow catchers on the shoulders of the jersey.
