It's not a temper tantrum when it's consistent. I like Painter, but he's consistently bad in the tournament. We know that the tourney determines good vs bad.
We did this last year and the year before. If you're satisfied with being good in the regular season, but lay eggs in the tournament. That's not being successful or having a successful mentality. I'm going to assume an AD/Bob might see this differently because that's his job and he wants wins or good PR and this isn't it.

I'm a huge Painter fan and want him to succeed. But we got lucky down the stretch in the conference. The team has not played well since early February and there have been some glaring inadequacies down the stretch that have been pretty bad. All the things that Purdue fans have been frustrated with - have come to a head in colossal fashion.
Quite frankly, I can't think of a poorer coaching performance in my lifetime than Purdue in February and March of this year.
Being pi$$ed at Painter or the AD is appropriate. But claiming you want Samson, Self, Pearl, or Pitino is either a temper tantrum or complete lack of character. It's one legitimate reason we criticize Indinia fans -- theye are losers who need to feel like winners so they attach themselves to the banners. Anyone who is that hard up for a banner that they would hire these guys does not deserve to be attached to any banners.

You don't deserve it, if you think that's what it takes. I make fun of the Indinia fans who have said they want Sampson back or they would take Pitino in a heartbeat. You make it easy not to take you seriously.
