Anybody watch this besides BNI? I just saw it in my guide and was like WTF? Jemele Hill is in it so that was already enough for me. She got fired from ESPN for being racist. I read some reviews for the hell of it and they were horrible from Blacks and Whites alike. It is a series apparently with blacks railing on white people. WTF does this solve? Rumor has it BNI is in an upcoming episode but no confirmation.

Saw the Commy News Network just hired Jemele. Perfect fit.

It's some black pity party new series on Showtime. I figured you would be all over it. No doubt Jemele Hill will have a lot of intelligent unbiased opinions to express as fact.

was that the black national anthem I heard during the Super Bowl pregame?

So unifying......

Yep, that was “Lift Every Voice and Sing”. It is often referred to as the Black National Anthem. It came out of a poem written in the early 1900’s. Before y’all criticize the song, I know you don’t like history, but why don’t you Google the song and learn about its origins and history. What is non-unifying is not learning about each other’s cultures. That is what y’all do all the time.

I suppose y’all didn’t like the half time show either.

I liked the National Anthem and the 'Lift Every Voice and Sing" song.
They were both very well done.
The half time show sucked!!!
IMO rap is not music.
All the performers must have gotten crabs. There was a lot of crotch scratching.

Rap is not for everyone. Rap/hip hop is music I grew up with and was into it heavy. The current rap stuff is garbage.

Once again, why separate by race? The national anthem, by definition, includes everyone under the US flag. Sort of like the Pledge of Allegiance.

Should we have a Hispanic anthem? How about an Asian anthem. How about a whites only anthem?

As for the halftime show. I've never been a Snoop, Dre, Eminem or 50 cent fan. I'm sure 90% of the people in the stadium were like "WTF is this $hit?"

I would have preferred LL Cool J, Tone Loc, Young MC, Beastie Boys,

Just do some research on the song.

During the rap/hip hop era of the late 80’s and early 90’s, white folks were the largest buyers of that genre including gansta rap where Snoop and Dr. Dre fall into. Therefore, there were probably a large segment of crowd that was digging it. Perhaps a large segment of the older crowd that weren’t.

Don’t see how this racist Snoop Dog gets a half time gig at the super bowl.

black liberals are exempt from being held accountable for anything. They can pretty much say/do whatever they want without fear of repercussions. It's called "black privilege"

No such thing as black privilege. If you do believe that there is black privilege, why don't you believe that there is white privilege?

There's no such thing as white privilege because you believe that everything that happens to a person in life is because of their skin color and not the consequences of their decisions.
The whole diversity, inclusion and equity crap is black privilege.
Minority hiring quotas are black privilege.
If you're a celeb or athlete, you're basically able to say anything you want about white people without consequence.

The WNBA does suck. Never have and never will watch it. Too much social justice warrior garbage for me to enjoy the game.
The NBA has gone all SJW as well (so has the NFL). When do white people get to protest for more white players in the NBA?

The pure fact that you don't want diversity is racist. If the US hiring or college entry practices were diverse from the beginning then there would not be any affirmative action and quotas.

I find it funny that historically white people did not want diversity in the work place or schools. But now with affirmative action or so called quotas in place, white people have problems with it. Where was this sentiment among white people when qualified blacks and other minorities were passed over for jobs and colleges?

when did I ever say I didn't want diversity? What I don't want, is forced diversity. There's a difference.
Are there any current companies or colleges that have specific rules on their books about not hiring blacks?
If a black candidate is not as solid as the white candidate, should the black candidate receive special treatment?

See, you still believe people were passed over for jobs because of skin color, not merit, qualifications, attitude, etc. That's the problem and why race should not be a question on any type of school or employment application.

There's no such thing as privilege, period. I hate the term of "White Privilege" as it's used because it perpetuates a reasoning that whites are privileged because they realize all of the rights of the Constitution that should be given equally, to everyone. No, whites aren't privileged. African Americans and other races have been denied those same rights in certain situations. So just because I realize those rights, while others don't, doesn't make me privileged. It makes others a non-recipient of those rights in an illegal manner. And quite honestly, there are times when some white people are denied those rights as well. So it has nothing to do with white people who don't participate in racism. So let's stop using that term...

No, I’m not talking about special treatment, even though that is how white people have been hired or accepted into college regardless of qualifications for centuries in the US. I do agree with affirmative action where minorities are suppose to have equal opportunity for employment.

There is such thing as white privilege and it is very obvious to non-whites. For whites not to see it or don’t want to see us the whole point. Throughout the years in the US, there always have been 3 types of justice systems, one for whites and one for blacks. Back in the 80’s during the crack epidemic, for example blacks were sentenced harsher for 1 gram of crack compared to a white person with 10 grams of powder cocaine. Innocent white people don’t get evidence planted in their cars when stopped by police. Innocent white people don’t get confessions beat out of them while in police custody.

White people don’t get the police called them for selling water, picnic in the park, entering their own apartment buildings, cheering for their kid in a soccer game, picking up trash in front their own apartment complex just to name a few.

Dude, everyone, regardless of color, is entitled to the same rights in this country. It's not a privilege that I receive those rights. What you're referring to above is the illegal and unconstitutional denial of those rights to people of color due to racism. My being white has nothing to do with you being denied the same rights I get and you deserve and are entitled to get. And that's why "white privilege" doesn't exist.

FOR CENTURIES….plural…two hundred years

You might want to do some homework on the on the above. You say it’s because they were white, when in reality, it’s because they were rich. Fact…not all white people are or have always been rich. My guess is that there have been a few blacks and browns that have made into prestigious schools the same way I described.

There weren’t any poor white people making it into Harvard or Yale…”for centuries”. Ask Lori Loughlin how undeserving white kids get into college…

That’s your political elite Democrats you are talking about…you know, the non-working class (read white collar not blue collar, teachers lawyers, professors, journalists) political elite letting the undeserving rich kids into schools, BTW. If you don’t believe that, what political party is trying to get the government to make their tuition payments?

“My guess is that there have been a few blacks and browns that have made into prestigious schools the same way I described.” Nope, you are wrong. Why do you think HBCU’s were established? Because blacks couldn’t get into the other colleges.

As far as that Lori Loughlin scandal, that was the epitome of white privilege and what I’ve been talking about all along.

There’s a difference between rich privilege and white privilege. Lori Laughlin was rich privilege and if a black person or brown or Asian person did the same for their kids, it would still be rich privilege. 85% of whites don’t have Lori Loughlin’s privilege, so I don’t think that’s white privilege.

White privilege transcends financial status. Poor whites have benefitted from the justice system, schools, politics, etc as much as the affluent.

Your original post said poor whites got into college for “centuries”. I want to see your data versus your hyperbole.

Got data saying poor whites were getting into college in the 1850s, early 20th century. I sure it would be a great read.

I don't know, he might be right here. I was a poor white person, I got into college because of my white privilege. I had the privilege of working my butt off while going to school, competing in college athletics until my body gave up and working. After my body gave up, that just meant working more to help pay while also racking a tremendous amount of debt. But, I picked a major that would allow me to pay off that debt.

So yes, I admit that I've experienced the privilege of hard work to better himself and get ahead.

When discussing white privilege, y'all like to bring up working hard is reason you got ahead. While privilege has nothing to do with working hard. We all work hard.

Bullshit. Poor whites have been railroaded by the justice system for decades. If you can't afford good legal representation, you're pretty much screwed. Remember how OJ got away with murder? Was he white? No, he could afford the best legal representation and that's why he didn't get convicted...

Then you experience the same amount of privilege in life that I have. Nothing has ever been given to me, I probably have about as bad as luck as anyone, I am just to damn stubborn to let bad luck stop me.

Getting the best legal representation does not equate to privilege. Just means that you can afford it. The high priced lawyers still have to do their job and prove or disprove the evidence.

OJ got off because the LA police department was exposed as being racist. The LA police department was exposed with planting evidence and contaminating the crime scene and at OJ's crib. A jive public defender would have been able to defend that.

Did the racist white cops that beat the crap out of Rodney King get the best legal representation? No, the trial was moved to the mostly white city of Simi Valley, CA and the jury got those officers off.

I brought this up a while ago. IN Ohio, a white woman and a black woman had similar charges, if not the same. The SAME judge gave the white lady, who had a more extensive criminal record, a lighter sentence. She did not have a dream team of lawyers representing her.

When was the last time a white person in police custody got the confession beat out of them? Planted evidence in their cars during a traffic stop? Called the police upon for selling water? Called the police upon while cheering kid in a soccer game? Called the police upon while picking up trash in front of own apartment complex? Called the police upon while BBQ in the park. The list goes on and on.

Again, it's not about giving you something.

Even, within the black community, lighter skinned blacks have always enjoyed a certain privilege over the darker skinned blacks . This situation goes for the Latino community as well. Blacks and Latinos have always called this "colorism". Latino Actor John Leguizamo, who is a white Latino, has said that throughout his career that he has stayed out of the sun so that his skin will not get tanned in order to keep getting movie rolls.
