Evan Battey

I prefer Battey to Tillman. Battey is more technical and would probably be ranked ahead of Tillman if he weighed less.

Call him a third option if you want but I would be fine with it.

The thing is, the recruits that Purdue gets have a very large impact on whether or not Purdue will win.

Going to be tough to win with a bunch of 2nd and 3rd option players.
Depends who we get and what impact they have. I will wait and see the results on the court before I judge.

We could very well end up with players like VE, Haas, Dakota or cline..... but could end up with more players that lacked sauce ;).

I guess I just am not jumping to any conclusions until the win loss record slides.

I see what you're saying BBG, but it's beginning to sound like it did when Painter was signing his 09-11 classes.

Losing a basketball recruit to Colorado would be a really, really, bad sign. I can't imagine what Colorado could offer from a basketball perspective that's better than Purdue.

A former Colorado football coach (name escapes me right now) who built up their program said if he could get a recruit to Boulder, they would get them almost 100% of the time. There aren't many places in America that are as beautiful as Boulder is, especially in the early fall and spring...now think of where most campuses are located in America.

That is the problem with you chicken littles. Aside from being extremely out of touch with the current generation of recruits, you think that players play at schools just based on who they are.

Newsflash, it doesn't work that way and your picture proves it. If he chooses Colorado it will be for the location and the mountains probably moreso than anything else most likely. You are still trapped in the recruiting age of old and need to come to grips that for the majority of the schools out there, which includes Purdue, all things are essentially equal now. Which will make it even harder to recruit.

Also need to understand that with social media and games being played all the time, I think closeness of home has a decreased importance as it did even 15-20 years ago. A kid can literally call his family at any time and see their face through a dozen different options and the family can grab DirectTV and watch most games of all major and mid-major conferences all season.

Being in IT I completely agree with you. Personally I think what you mentioned has reshaped the landscape of sports quite a bit.

probably Bill McCartney.....Gary Barnett would be the other possibility, but he "allegedly" used other "scenery" instead as an enticement.

The Buffs have a nice little class of '17 going.
Turn down for what.
A number of programs seem to have "a nice little class of '17 going"...and most have not missed on virtually every recruit on their board.

Good thing scholarships were saved for this class.

Maybe another contract extension should be done.
