These guys seem to understand why Painter doesn't pull Loyer when his shots aren't falling.
Boiler Up! All the way!
Dude is shooting 58% from 3 in conference….we can’t take him out just due to the threat he poses as a 3 pt shooterThese guys seem to understand why Painter doesn't pull Loyer when his shots aren't falling.
I think they were complaining that he does sit Loyer. These guys seem to understand why Painter doesn't pull Loyer when his shots aren't falling.
Don't have time to listen right now, but naturally playing IU there was a pregame concern in how Fletcher would do and how McBako would do. You knew Lance had Galloway and Braden had Cupps or X minus any switching and that left Fletcher defending a much bigger McBako. WE didn't know if the refs would swallow their whistles as it sometimes happens in rivalry games above and beyond Big in general. You also knew Fletcher could help facilitate the offense if not stroking it well...(still has to hit some) and help bring the ball up "if" needed...a function of the whistle. Braden knows where everyone is located, but has a bit more focus on Zach and Fletcher with Lance close by as well. Fletch drew a key early foul on a charge and is a cerebral player who has a high basketball IQ. If struggling, it typically is due to some physical play. However, hitting or not...teams are NOT going to give him an open shot behind the arc and so he is always providing some spaceThese guys seem to understand why Painter doesn't pull Loyer when his shots aren't falling.
I feel his 19 were a quiet 19 vs IU….now shooting 58% from 3 in conference play. Something that he was not doing last year at this time! Hope he can keep it up the rest of the way!Don't have time to listen right now, but naturally playing IU there was a pregame concern in how Fletcher would do and how McBako would do. This may be an oversimplification, but I believe it has everything to do with confidence. His skillset is largely unchanged and he added maybe 5lbs of muscle to his frame since last year. But the biggest difference is his mentality. He just seems...tougher this year.I feel his 19 were a quiet 19 vs IU….now shooting 58% from 3 in conference play. Confidence is always huge, but confidence only really comes from success. Maybe he reviewed some games from last year and saw some things? Maybe his play in the summer was better? Maybe his time in the gym he saw better results? Hard to say what groundwork was laid that led to more confidence which then led to more success…This may be an oversimplification, but I believe it has everything to do with confidence.
