Yeah, this is what I come back to when considering Painter for COY. And, Brandon Brantley absolutely deserves recognition with some assistant coaching awards.

We can talk about where Purdue was predicted to finish or where they started in the national poles. But, Painter and his staff built a top-10 team around a big man who only started playing basketball as a sophomore in high school, a point guard who wasn't ranked nationally and had mostly mid-major offers, and a shooting guard who barely cracked the top-150. I get that Purdue has higher ranked recruits on the roster. But, the core of this team are guys who weren't major prospects. And, the coaching staff molded them into a P6 conference champion.
