Edey being beaten up

A gold nugget is the one complaining about Zach not being whistled for "five seconds."

Yeah, it sure must be annoying when Zach squares up 30 feet from the basket and is closely guarded for five seconds.

That string gives truth to the adage that basketball is like church; many attend, but few understand.

I don’t give that outlet my business and boycott any business to Indy media outlets during basketball season. Over the top? Probably. But the IU lap dance is pathetic.

I don't think that's over the top.....it's a business decision....just like the Star's. If they want to play favorites to that extent.....fine.....but deal with the consequences.

I still have to chuckle when years back they woke up and wondered "Gee, why don't we have more Purdue subscribers.....what can we do to try to entice them?" "I know....we'll try to establish a new relationship/beat, yada yada yada......"

Big surprise when that didn't work......basically *&^%ssed down their backs and told 'em it was raining for decades.......

It's amazing for a guy that is as humble as Edey is and so easy to like that the IU fan base hates on him so much. Apparently only because they can't stop him and he dominated them. I've read comments that they've never seen a player get away with more fouls that go uncalled and that he's a hothead. Just absolutely absurd comments if you know anything about basketball, whatsoever. When JHS put it to Purdue at Mackey, I gave him nothing but praise. He doesn't showboat and seems to just play the game right. I don't see why so many people just have to hate on a good kid that plays the game the right way.

I occasionally like to browse other B10 team's message boards. Very, very rarely post though because, ya know, that stuff can get old real quick.

Anyway, I've found some interesting observations. Once you sift through any blind Purdue hate, and ultra-hot, game-thread takes or immediate blazing post- game takes, you actually DO see Edey getting some respect. Not frequently and not a lot but it is out there.

For example, both the Iowa and Rutgers free boards are pretty active. Have seen a couple, pleasantly surprising takes on Edey. A few items such as this:

"Honestly, Edey is probably fouled more without getting calls than about any player I can remember in recent play."

"Feel for Edey. That guy gets the crap beat out of him right in front of the refs. If we're being totally honest, we could have easily been called for 10 more fouls."

"Our game plan was clearly to hack the hell out of him and dare the refs to call it."

Hard to believe but there are some objective fans from other teams...even if few and far between

Some fans find their self-worth in how a team does. The IU basketball team although very good at home has fallen short in providing the self-importance some seek to make it through the day. Therefore, they redirect that need to TJD who has really played well the last third or fourth of the season, but also falls short of Zach's play the entire season, and so now Zach is the roadblock to some fans feeling good about themselves...

Zach is big enough to handle it and it may prevent some abuse to animals...

I was wondering if it's the Saint Augustine lighthouse...about 20 miles from me.
