getting a Juco in the mix does lend a little balance to the roster
I actually saw him hit a few perimeter shots...not sure how good he is, but never saw Jacob do that. I think he will be more skilled and as athletic as jacob

I was at the end of the gym in Tipton with Dakich right behind me and Meyer (his asst, now at Michigan) was watching an already offfered and I think verbal of Elston to IU. Meyer thought Elston was the best in the state and said Byrd was too slow. Elston had some physical tools, but I think most would say that Bryd had a better personal basketball career...not that either would be remembered 40 years from now.
Dakich kept saying he didn't know why he was there because IU wasn't going to hire him...
What I don't know is if Barlow was a problem in the team setting or just his off court antics which forced Matt's hand. I know there were times the last two years I wouldn't have minded seeing a much more mature 6'5" athlete that could get to the rim, handle the ball and defend at the point.
