Dwayne Haskins released from Washington

More so than Jeff George? That dude lasted a decade In the nfl without ever bothering to learn to read defenses. Relied on pure talent.
I guess I don’t think of him as a Purdue QB.

Side note: I have 2 business associates that know him very well, and both say he’s the nicest guy you’ll meet. One of them played at Warren with him. He’s not aloof at all, he’s just not an alpha male, and never cared to confront his teammates about anything, like a Peyton or Brady would. He’s a loner, not a guy to hang out and crush beers with the boys after practice.

And to your point, not a guy to hang around after practice and watch film either.

I guess it’s all a matter of perspective. OSU fans think guys like Hoying, Troy Smith, and Krenzel were really good.
no doubt, it is perspective.

I was around central OH for the latter Hoying years, as well as the Krenzel years. Everyone really knew what Krenzel was (good at game plan execution and leadership, not the greatest in terms of skill). They also knew QBs like Troy Smith didn't translate to the NFL.

Still, Hoying wasn't in that Krenzel category.
