Doyel thinks C Edwards is going to be the new alpha on the team.

This. Same article stated Eastern was giving Carson some problems on the defensive end. I can't remember having anyone at point with his size. We have typically had shorter PGs save for the one year of the baptizer Octeus at 6-4.

However, if you listen to Painter on the Dakich show he has high expectations for CE. Basically said he will be one of the top players in the conference. Since JJ's senior year (and the second half at that) I can't remember when we had a true go to guy in times of clutch. Yes Biggie last year was the first option, but I think CE can become that clutch guy in the waning seconds of a game.

Bryant Dillon was about 6'5/6'6, but he was not on the same level (athletically) as Nojel Eastern. There's been posts stating that Eastern has also been giving P.J. Thompson some trouble in drills (possibly scrimmages as well).

Who will be Purdue's 5Th starter? Writing an article and need this info, thanks!

The starting five at the beginning of the season is likely to be either:

-P.J. Thompson
-Carsen Edwards
-Dakota Mathias
-Vince Edwards
-Isaac Haas

or

-P.J. Thompson
-Dakota Mathias
-Ryan Cline
-Vince Edwards
-Isaac Haas

I highly doubt Cline is starting over Carson. CMP has already been on record saying that CE can single handedly take over games and could be one of the conference's best players. I agree with your initial starting five, however.

I'm just going by the lineup Painter was starting at the end of this past season. I personally don't like when Mathias and Cline are on the floor together, but CMP obviously does at times.
