Does Brohm get a contract extension?

Also.. I think people who root for Purdue were sick of losing seasons already.. but I think it’s gonna be a long long long time before we are sick of 8-4 seasons .. I think if brohm can go for between 6-8 wins consistently he can operate in a pressure free environment
8-4 isn't good enough. We need to be consistently 10-2 or 11-1... :p Fire Brohm...

Just trying to channel my inner Nebraska demons...

You know that guy who makes videos about their losses that end “**** everything”? He actually said Iowa “could be a good team and not just 10-2” lmao. Wow

All UL has to say is "Jeff, you've done great for Purdue. Brought them back to Tiller era results. They're better off now than when you first got there. Time to come home."
? On what logical basis would Brohm look at the program he is creating at Purdue, with a LOT of the heavy lifting that's been done, and decide to abandon that?

He has just now gotten the program on solid footing, and you think now's the time to leave, but a few years ago wasn't?

I understand that people make decisions on their own timeline, but there's nothing about the 2021 version of Jeff Brohm that would lead us to a logical, rational conclusion that he's now going to be enticed to take over the UofL program.

Remember, Hagen is being paid this year by Texas. It will be interesting to see if Lambert stays or takes a HC job somewhere. We'll be paying our DC trio a bunch to stay. I really want that to happen so Jerry DiNardo can remain confused on how 3 DC's work, just like any current or past IU coach struggles with the very idea of 3 DC's. Also curious since the Purdue athletics coaching staffs all had their 2020 pay changed--just for the one year, yes? Brohm isn't due an extension yet--wait until the start of next season, but wrap up the coaching staff as Brohm likes. It will show support for assistant coaches and coordinators so when they do graduate and get HC jobs, Brohm becomes the guy you want to work for/with to achieve success.

His buyout is $20M right now.

There are 2 different buyouts, the one Purdue owes if it fires him and the one he owes to Purdue if he leaves before the contact is over (these amounts are almost always paid by the hiring school via loan-type agreements).

Is the $20m what Purdue would owe Jeff or what Jeff would owe Purdue?

Hahahaha

I laugh because I hope this is an attempt at humor and I want you to feel better about yourself.
??????? there’s plenty of talent in the candidate pool this year that would take the job and do very well with the job. Names like Ed Orgeron, Gary Patterson, Hugh Freeze, Shane Beamer, even Deion Sanders, all are worth rolling the dice on.

~$20M is what he owes to Purdue if he leaves early (as of today). Like you said, usually the school he’s going to picks up the tab (or most of it). What do you think these buyouts are for? It’s to discourage another school from poaching our Coach. Sometimes schools have clauses that force the coach who decides to leave early to pay a portion of the buyout out of his own pocket (which the $3.45M amount MIGHT be).

Do you honestly think Orgeron, Hugh Freeze, or Sanders would come to Purdue? No way. Shane Beamer just finished his first season at South Carolina. If he’s not willing to leave the Gamecocks for VaTech why the hell would he come here right now?

You don’t have a clue.

Could you link the info where he owes $20 million if he decides to leave? The article I shared above says $3.45 million.

Why wouldn’t they??? It’s a solid program in a power 5 conference. Did you ever think Hugh Freeze would be coaching at Liberty University??

That article lists the buyouts the schools would owe if they fired the coach, not how much the coach would owe if they left. Purdue would owe Brohm around $20 million if he is fired without cause, as stated in the article.

Brohm would owe Purdue $3.45 million if he decided to leave as far as I can tell.

After he got busted at Ole Miss, yes I do - he took what he could get. Freeze and Orgeron are SEC guys. Sanders is likely to stay down south (FL especially) too.

Lambert isn’t going anywhere.
Would like to think so. He left Marshall since he didn't get the HC job. The desire usually doesn't disappear. The HC job for him would not be in P5 and likely we can pay him that level of salary.

Yeah so what? Orgeron coached in Los Angeles? There’s also some midwestern guys that could be nice hires. Luke Fickell would be an exceptional pickup for the program

Yeah, so would Urban Meyer. So would Nick Saban. GTFOH.
I think going after a guy like Urban Meyer isn’t a bad idea actually. Les Miles went to Kansas. Why wouldn’t Urban Meyer go to Purdue? He’s going to be out of the NFL either this year or next year. An excellent candidate to roll the dice on

Or we could stick with the guy that has brought us out of 1 conference win per year purgatory and has us within one win of tying the best record for Purdue in over 40 years.

Brohm has built this team and I LOVE the type of young men he is recruiting. I am willing to give him all the time he needs to take this program as high as he can take it.

I wouldn’t bring in a single guy you mentioned over Brohm right now. Let’s see where he can take us.

Boiler Up!

He’s a troll dude .. he has to be td75s little brother

Why in the H-E-Double hockey sticks would we want Ed Orgeron here?? He couldn't win in a job where LSU locks up every bit of talent in the state of Louisiana without even trying...

Brohm is no Tiller....Tiller had 2 losing seasons in 12 years and he came into a program that had 1 winning season in the previous 14 years...Brohm's had 1 good year...don't get carried away...

You've accomplished writing the most moronic post I've ever seen on here. Congrats...

He doesn’t need to be tiller.. when you have a coach even as good as brohm you don’t go back to rolling dice

Tiller took over a roster with multiple NFL players, and a fair amount of experience and depth on each side of the ball.

The opposite was true for Brohm.

There could be nothing more irrelevant than the number of winning seasons prior to Tiller's arrival.

Incorrect. He has sincere interest in returning home. Not saying it will happen, but the interest is there according to multiple insiders.

Careful everyone... The Louisville boys at 247 have eyes on this thread. They have themselves in an absolute frenzy... Praying to God Satterfield gets hired away so they can hire Brohm...

Three years ago these same people were certain they were getting Brohm and when he said no they cursed his name and said never again. Then they hired Satterfield and declare what a savior he is and is an upgrade over Brohm. Especially after Satt won 8 games his first year...

Now lol they are tied of Scott and want him out after winning 6 games during a rebuild... They are declaring Brohm now the savior again and are thinking he wouldn't say no to them this time.

They think Purdue is an impossible place to win... (Which is complete bull shit btw) two of our last four coaches have shown that not to be the case... Even Danny Hope did decent. Brohm really proved it this year... One win away from the big ten championship... They believe themselves to have the superior program

Would love to see them after four years of playing week in and week out in the big ten … Nebraska learned that that isn’t as easy as it seems.

that said I like the brohms and don’t really have a desire to gratuitously rip their home town

How about Belichick?

The funny part is there is absolutely nothing about their program that makes them superior to Purdue. They used to be part of Conf USA for goodness sakes...
