I believe it's when Purdue is still playing basketball and Indiana isn't! I heard this so many times years ago when all the gapped tooth fans used to deride Purdue fans by saying it was when "Indiana was still playing basketball and Purdue wasn't", so I thought it was about time someone posted the question.
