Yes ma'am, this is exactly why I think you handle the fools just fine. I hope you continue "talking" with us because I enjoy your point of view and your insight. I saw what my daughter had to endure to play in a top 10 Indiana HS basketball program so I can imagine what young men such as Nojel must do to accomplish what he has. For that alone he has my respect.

No, no,no,no! Just my take. I respect your right to be here just like everyone else but I personally would not want to come to this site very much if I were a parent of a player. Over the years players have been called names, made fun of their abilities and questions of their intelligence and hearts. Expectations sometimes are unreal for these kids. Though some things may be somewhat legitimate points or thoughts, it would be hurtful to me if I was a parent to hear or see them. There are no faces with the free board venom and lack of tact. Your heart will always want to defend and react which would be expected. You will also know some things that others don't. We had a parent on the women's board years ago during the Curry Crap Scandal. He kept saying "well I know more than you." He said way too much. People called him out like he was baiting people or that he was really an impostor. It turned to name calling. Can you imagine if Mr or Mrs. Stephens was on this board? It can be eye rolling at times with the posts.
Any way, just Peanut Gallery advice and a warning. You're an adult and are welcomed here. There are some really good people, true Purdue fans on this board but as you're seeing some others have sick agendas. Here's to a great 4 years to your son, and his parents. A Purdue degree is worth it's weight in Gold, that I do know. Go Boilers!
This is the worst advice ever. Just ignore him and be done. You can't have fun with a troll. When you acknowledge them, they get exactly what they want. That is encouraging the awful behavior. If everybody ignored him, he would stop posting. Or he would just change his name again. He offers absolutely nothing to the forum. Nothing.

I see we're you coming from and I appreciate your concerns and I'm totally aware of the criticism my son will endure when he have a bad game and many will rip him apart and as a parent my 1st reaction will be to lash out at all who will make negative comments about my son. 18 year old he is and he gonna have some bad games and make many mistakes but as long as my son has no idea what is being said about him in his face I can live with it no matter how bad it will hurt to read what people might say. WUG games many complained about his t/o he had 25 to be exact and rip him apart and than made comments he not a PG and PJ is the best person to play it bcuz he does not turn it over much and fair to say but to think he isn't a PG none of them have a clue what my son can do and he is a PG that can also play multiple positions as well and painter will play him there and other positions that best suites the team. I can handle what comes with negative comments we have heard it all b4 and even if I wasn't on this site I'll hear it in the stands so it is what it is and it all come with the territory of being in the public eye. However thanks for your insight and advice appreciate you warning me what's to come.
I hope that any criticism you may read regarding Nojel has nothing to do with him as a person or his character, but rather a weakness in a skill that "may" need addressed since all players have weaker areas than other areas. However, that is not to say that those comments are valid either. Being involved in various forums over the years in a variety of subject areas I would like to think that any decent person would stay away from character assassination that was unwarranted and only discuss perceived issues...and those issues have a based line comparison of perfection. Personally, I think this forum is pretty good about not dogging players. Nojel is young as you say and will make mistakes...THAT is to be expected. However, Purdue is very fortunate to have him and his growth as a player and person will continue through all his years at Purdue. I'm excited for what I understand him to be as a person and what he brings to the table as a player and look forward to watching him grow at Purdue.
I get that point too about his weaknesses and maybe about his skills will sometimes be in question when things happen in a game and many will persecute him for it that is what we as people and fans will do. Nobody will be more critical of those mistake he will make than my son will be and trust me he can handle himself and I will be the mother I am and provide encouragement to my son when times like that happen. Who he is as a person I no none should judge him bcuz he isn't arrogant,selfish or rude but a beautiful spirit of a kid that sees no color but the inside of a human being. I believe we all know the last time Purdue made the final 4. his posts are like listening to Trump say in every speech, you know, I won the electoral college. You might want to copy and paste this response for quick reference... as there are a LOT of people here who just can't (or won't) help themselves. I would venture a guess that as much as 25% of posts in the last 2 months have been some combination of: responses to trolls, exchanges about trolls among non-trolls, or other troll-inspired conversation. It's staggering.
If being called a troll makes me one, then yes! Ha.
I think what I've learned from feedback is that I'm only a troll in MSU threads because 1) confusion from my handle, and 2) I'm indifferent to MSU and don't harbor the unbridled hate that others do... so when I say anything lacking the highest levels of hate, it's interpreted as pro-MSU. Then the handle confusion kicks in... and suddenly I'm trolling a site I've been a member of for 3 years. Guess I'm working the long con on this one!

I love the days after winning the 27 or 28 or 29 games that we win. I truly enjoy watching a good team play a good game. It is an enjoyable evening for me. I guess I just choose to enjoy the simple things ...

We've had one chance at a final four and Cuonzo Martin was the one who put that team together at least the core of it. Haven't had a recruiting class like that since he's left. Starting to think there's very few Purdue fans that know little about basketball and what it takes to get to the top. I'm going to put this out here our football team will reach a Rose Bowl before painter gets to a final four. Hell they'll be in the final four in football before Purdue basketball team gets to a final four. Signing out see you
