I was at that game and could have gone without seeing that painful memory
I'm going to say definitely NO, while he made a great game saving play he also got beat on that other long pass play down to the 2 on osu's last scoring drive and he also got caught up vs a bunch formation play for a 37 yd gain earlier in the contest.
I never noticed but Jenkins extends his arm back to separate from Rogers similar to (probably worse than) what Payne did on the play that got flagged in the Minnesota game last year. And, despite the gut punch that it was, I don't recall a single Purdue fan saying it should have been OPI.
On a similar topic, officiating overall:
The thing that I don’t think that’s being talked about, because we won, is.. let’s get this straight..
Bell gets flat out tackled by rezjohn Wright in our second drive.. the only way you don’t call that is if you and your fellow officials are just absolutely terrible. My mom could have made that call..
Then, when you (the official) thinks brohm or another coach is coming onto the field to argue with you, you get this angry baby look on your face and throw a flag??
it’s like.. why are you mad? It’s someone else’s fault you’re the worst ever when it comes to not letting the best receiver in the game get taken down blatantly?? Are you kidding me?
I don’t know if this ticked anyone else off but that official should have been embarrassed not mad
