The transformation of the defense this year has been amazing, especially considering we lost Fakasiieiki and Watts before the season, Trice after 2 games, and Mitchell has been very limited.
Our schedule is fairly weak so far, but here's how this years team ranks nationally (last years rank in parentheses):

13th in total defense (56th)
30th in rush defense (44th)
19th in passing defense (94th)
22nd in yards per play
5th in passing efficiency defense (93rd)
7th in first downs allowed (29th)
44th in 3rd down conversion defense (93rd)
T-4th in 4th down conversion defense (31st)
3rd in Red Zone defense (50th)
If you told me before the season we'd be within 30 spots of these, I would have happily taken it.
