His offensive game has been mentioned here, but it doesn't seem to me that he gets enough credit for his defense.

He held Deng Adel to 13 points* in 38 minutes, yet still had the energy to hit some key 3's (of which, if he hadn't, we'd all be moaning about how the sky is falling).

The other stat that jumps out was Adel's 5 for 15 shooting!

*Deng was averaging over 17 points with 54% shooting.

Even Kim said to me as I was watching the Louisville game, "I'm going to miss Dakota next year." There is no physical reason Dakota is so good...it all starts with hard work, study, effort and skill refinement

Is Dakota the anti-Huerter tonight?

He does have incredible reflexes which are what make him so good at stealing the ball. Apart from that you are correct, his game is predicated on hard work and being a student of the game.

His D might be the hardest to replace as this senior class leaves.

Hope he is working hard in practice to pass the "defensive baton" this year to Eastern, Wheeler or SS. Whomever gets that "baton", will play the most minutes in the coming years.
