• At the risk of starting a nuclear apocalypse on this message board: The other day in our Caleb Swanigan update we told you there was a set of circumstances in which this COULD evolve out of the Cal-Purdue race it has been. We painted a picture, and an accurate one, we might add, of the recruit being drawn to Cal and Purdue's pitch really resonating with those around him. However, in the event that a compromise choice comes into play, that could open a door for Michigan State to win out here. This remains a hypothetical, but one based on good information.
We told you that if there was a pre-announcement announcement about Swanigan being down to two that that would be a big deal. Yeah, it has not happened and had it, that would have closed the door, in effect, on the compromise scenario.
At this point, if he does announce tomorrow, we could reasonably see it being any one of three schools now instead of just two.

• A.J. Hammons did get most of his NBA intel in yesterday.
Some additional information is due to Purdue early next week, information tied to who else is in the draft, but the bulk of his feedback has come in, per a source (obviously).
As we told you yesterday, it's thought that he is likely at this point to return to Purdue for his senior season, barring a knock-your-socks-off report from the NBA people.
