Off topic, but posting here because of the intensity of negativity toward non-revenue sports on this forum in recent years:
Congratulations to Matthew McClintock, who became the first Boilermaker cross country runner in 72 years to win the Big Ten championship. McClintlock also broke the meet 8K record by six seconds, which is simply amazing considering how many Olympians programs such as Wisconsin and Indiana have produced over the years.
Also, congratulations to Hope Schmetzle, who finished 5th on the women's side and broke the school 6K record.
I, for one, am proud whenever any of our Boilermakers accomplish greatness. McClintock, in particular, has had an outstanding career at Purdue.
I doubt that whatever investment Burke has made in CC has broken the football bank, and I'm glad to see the sport competitive again after being an afterthought for more than 20 years.
Proud to have this as my 1000th post.
