Congrats to Rondale Moore

Special teams returner. It is on the gbi Twitter feed on the main page.

That’s an awesome honor. Did he get any love as a receiver? The PFF was as second team receiver, behind Waddle and some UMASS guy. I’d take Rondale over both.

Still a little sore about Brohm I guess??
Louisville had nothing to do with it. It is a national award. Barkley won it last year.
Man - you’re really reaching to find that in my post. Nowhere did I say, or insinuate, that Moore wasn’t completely deserving. The Hornung Award - held in Louisville - has a little rep for trying to find players that also have some local / regional interest. Helps the attendance and build the relatively new brand that it is.

Field Dick Pepper, why are you still hanging around here? Are you converting to a Boilermaker fan? Or is the Brohm butthurt that hard to get over? If it's the latter, I'd go see a proctologist sooner rather than later. Being here won't help your butthurt-itis. Hope the swelling goes down soon.

When this award was initially created, it did have that rep of trying to find regional players to help sell more tickets to this event. That is true. I think in the last 4 to 5 years that the committee and the award has gotten better of going more “national” with its winners. With Rondale winning, I am sure he will help to sell tickets this upcoming year being a Trinity grad and local star.

No, I did not miss the compliment of Moore. Much appreciated.

Far from being upset, I’ve made some really good connections here Patty. Besides - though time will tell - very happy with Louisville’s new coach Scott Satterfield. I think that he will do great things at UofL and get us back to the BCS / NYD6 bowl level sooner rather than later. Hope that Brohm can finally get you guys over that hump in the future.

Great honor for Moore and great exposure for Purdue. Think this will help recruiting? Heck yes

I seem to remember seeing where Moore had received a letter from The Heisman Committee telling him that he could attend The Heisman Awards program in New York. Does anyone else remember seeing this and if so is he going?

He did get that, but they selected Haskins, Murray, and Tagovailoa as the finalist this year.

*at Purdue! Hopefully he has a successful career at the next level and we can keep watching him!
Absolutely! But what an opportunity/privilege to have him and get to watch him in person. I am glad to this day that I got to be there to witness Drew Brees in action. In fact I regret not entirely appreciating it at the time!
