Colvin and Heide yikes

Remember Myles last year? He was lost on defense and appeared to be completely focused on scoring.

Yesterday, we saw Myles doing all of the little things to help the team win. It may not show up in the box score, but he has bought in to his role and is playing winning basketball. The scoring will eventually come, but even with 1 point, Myles was a key contributor to Purdue’s win yesterday.

Care to make a gentlemen's bet on how many we lose to the portal this off-season?
I don’t think any of the Big 3 leave, I do think Purdue loses a few players, my guess would be two, Berg needs to move down a level to say a Loyola, he’s a decent player just in my opinion not one that plays a lot of minutes on a contending one, think Waddell with 1 more year likely with degree in hand goes elsewhere for an opportunity to play. That’s just a guess, might even see another leave, who knows? As for the portal, hope 1 frontcourt player is brought in.

He has matured and now he gets it on defense:

“The more you talk, the more you're engaged, so it's easier to be more connected on the defensive end,” Myles Colvin said. “It's also just having that mindset of playing defense. You're not going to be able to be a good defender if you're not willing to play defense, or be connected and run a string through your team."

What the heck does that word salad mean?

Listen myles will be fine he just needs to work on his shot and do the little things he did good on defense
Was at the game yesterday and he was making everything in warmups and looked great. I think it’s just matter of continuing to mature and get into the flow of games better. Both he and Heide played important minutes down the stretch because of defense and rebounding. It was great to see them be involved down the stretch of a big game on the road. This should be a great confidence builder for both of them.

He missed the first 3 at the 14.5 min mark first half and didnt shoot and didnt shoot again until 7 min left in second half (besides the flagrant foul that wasn’t called on bittle where he missed his dunk). It’s hard to get it going when you don’t get manufactured shots for you in the offense.

But I keep saying, as long as they ay their roles well, Purdue will be put in a very good position to win the game.

I wonder why Painter doesn’t run any plays for them. He ran two plays in a row yesterday for non big 3 players. Both were open looks from 3 for Burgess and Harris. I wish we ran more of that stuff for Loyer too.

I actually think Berg can play at a high major level but he needs game experience. It would probably help him to go down a level and then try to get a high major NIL deal his last year. Or just ride it out at Purdue.

Not saying that are teams that he couldn’t help but he is too slow footed to fit into most Division 1 schemes. I think he fit better at a lower level.

They didn’t run plays specifically for those 2. Burgess was open off a pick and pop but he as def not the first or 2nd option. Same with Harris.

I’ll watch the game again and let you know but I’m pretty sure they ran those two plays for the benefactor on each one.
