I have never understood why written in to coaches contracts(both head and assistant) there are not clauses that prohibit them from recruiting players from the school they are leaving without some big monetary penalty. Or, that they not be let out of their contract until the expiration date(which should be after signing day). Or if the head coach allows an assistant to leave early that they would have enough personal character and ethics not to try and steal a recruit from the head coach who allowed them to leave early. If you fire a coach you are still obligated to pay him through the end of the contract.
