I thought the story he had told about getting a couple of technicals at a game there and then Knight telling him that he needed to calm down was pretty classic as well, and I think it is actually pretty cool that they not only remain friends, but that they talk once a month he had said...those games when those guys were the respective coaches were flat out awesome games more often than not...some epic games in the history of the rivalry.
I can still remember a game when I was about 12/13...Purdue lost at home, pretty sure it was to Michigan...we had hung around to try to see the players and get autographs, and I remember Todd Mitchell coming out after a short visit to the locker room with his practice gear on...his parents had asked why he had not changed as they were going out to dinner, and he said that he couldn't, as Coach had called a practice...Knight had done the same I remember after a game that they lost at home early in the year to Miami, OH...in fact, in that case, they never even went back to the locker room I don't believe, as I can remember them doing the post-game show and them mentioning that practice had commenced already.
My roommates best friend went to IU, and he roomed with Cheaney and Reynolds...used to hear some great stories...Todd Leary was sitting in on one of the local sports talk shows this week, and he had some amazing and good stories as well.
