What makes you think they aren't?I like easy money. The idiot was calling Indiana an NIT team.
What makes you think they aren't?
Well it's still a team sport and IU as a team is weak.Enough talent in the top half of the conference and I don't see the Big Ten getting less than 7 bids. Rather then debating where Indiana will finish, like I'm sure you're dying to do, I'm happy to just put money on it.
Well it's still a team sport and IU as a team is weak.
They have two bad losses already and the competition is only going to get better in conference.
There are 8 teams ranked higher per Kenpom in the B1G right now then Wake. Wake made it look easy to score at will against IU.
Illinois is only two places behind Wake.
So it is reasonable to think that even with a weaker B1G schedule then most, that IU could also drop a good share of those 9 games. A few of those teams are home and away as well so that moves it up to 11-12 games that as of now, look to have a good chance of being losses.
With two bad losses and a .500 or worse B1G record. They won't get in.
I won't bet however as I hope they make it. I don't want to root against them keeping Crean.
I will consider a bet that the loser has to change their screen name for the entire season next year beginning on selection Sunday. That is if you really believe what you type.
if Cline has a career like that kid that played at osu (#33) had a couple of years ago, I'll be happy.I don't think I'd quite label losing to Wake Forest and UNLV as "bad losses" just yet.
Wake Forest has beaten UCLA and Arkansas. UNLV just beat Oregon. Not that they are worldbeaters and Wake Forest will not likely make postseason, but they aren't exactly the same as losing to North Florida and Gardner Webb.
That being said, the quantity of losses can become a problem. Right now, IU has 3 losses and still play Notre Dame. Having four losses going into Big Ten play can present challenge and not a lot of room for error.

Sorry about that. Now I will need to apologize to Indiana fans for my mistake. You see, we don't get many UM trolls. Maybe it is because there is a generally high level of respect between the programs' fans. Of course, you seem to feel the need to erode that respect, but we can deal with it in any case. This weirdo thinks I'm an Indiana fan.
He and the troll you speak of (the one that disappeared) are taking turns making fun of Purdue on the main BB board. Funny how they disappear after looking foolish!!Sorry about that. You exhibit the same need to call names and make belittling comments about anyone you disagree with, even when their point might be valid. It is very troll-ish of you. It does bring to mind an Indiana troll that used to stop by, so perhaps you can understand my short term confusion.
thanks , that's the guy I was thinking of.Jon Diebler.....all-time conference leader in three-pt FG's. That is not a bad goal to shoot for. Diebler was just deadly.....especially when left open....seemed like he never missed. I think he's also the all-time HS scoring leader for the State of Ohio.
He and Lighty often get overlooked from those Ohio State teams a few years back.
Words like "best" and "ever" inherently lead to debate unless there is a purely quantitative way to evaluate. Let's say that objective measure is single season 3P% while taking at least 30 3P's in the season. In that case, no, Ryan's not the best ever. Not yet, anyway . The current best ever is 50% from Jaraan Cornell in 1998. Second best is 48.5% from Woody Austin in 1990. And third is 47.2% from Chris Lutz in 2007. Three people made the single season top 15 for two different seasons: Cuonzo Martin, Everette Stephens, and Ryne Smith. Of those three, Cuonzo was the best with 44.9% in 1994 and 46.9% in 1995. If you ask me who is the best ever, it is Cuonzo those two years.
What's good enough for me is... Ryan Cline is damn good, and he'll only get better. Every game he gets a little better at defense, not unlike Dakota last year. It says something that we're even talking about him potentially being the best shooter ever. Hope he becomes the best as he matures on the team. Glad he's a Boilemaker. Boiler Up!
Curt Clawson-1978-81 was best pure catch/shoot guard I saw in my time. Could'nt take anyone off dribble or guard anybody, though- hence= limited minutes. He is now a US Representitive from FL
