I have felt since the beginning of this year that the X factor loomed in the shadows of the incoming group that needed to emerge in order for the boys to elevate their total package. I believe CJ is that key. Taking nothing away from Harris and even Caleb.
Colvin and Heide have to show up too. It takes a total team effort. But you have to have a marksman outside of Smith Loyer and he's the guy, I hope to see this grow evolve . Your thoughts welcome.

He seems to be coming into his own and starting to own that role. Im very interested/excited to see how he closes out this month! Higher competition and really getting into the conf season.

Im not sure the x factor is just one guy. With Furst moving into the starting lineup along with cox, the rebounding is a lot better and the defense seems sharper. Colvin and Heide will get their highlights - Colvin had a nice game yesterday as well. As for harris, his minutes are pretty solid and consistent. Both freshman haven't turned the ball over a whole lot either.

This is easy to say after he has a game like he did yesterday. What if Wednesday he goes 1-5 with 1 rebound? I do think that CJ has put a different kind of energy into the starting 5. Yesterday was a lot of fun. Hopefully it continues, especially with the long road trip this week. Gotta take care of business first at Washington.

Caleb's points are topping. Caleb's ability to defend by moving his feet helps a lot on screens, ball screens in particular. His ability to run the court adds pressure as Braden pushes the ball and his ability to rebound or at least keep the ball alive is also helpful. He knows his future is not in basketball and so he has NO personal goal outside of the team and doing all he can to advance the team. He has been a starter and he has sat the bench, but this is his last chapter in his book of his life in basketball and he hopes it is the best.

None of this is to dismiss CJ or Giccari as I have typed about them quite a few times.

I think this is what happens to those many valiant Boilers who struggled at times but came alive, mostly without any warning, as seniors. Realizing it's "the last time" you're going to school X or facing "that" coach has to start impacting most at some point there. And they just think "I'm going out fighting" and they commence to laying it all out there. I was praying for it happen to this oh so worthy kid and we all may have gotten lucky.

Don't say that too loud or else a troll will get on his high horse saying that he should leave the team in that case.

Furst and the 3 scoring guys have been consistent and we know what to expect from them. It's a good mix of skill sets. Cox defense is really good and he certainly can score.

I agree with Caleb , my only point on Cox is he is showing early signs of a guy who can be like Carson Edward's and light it up from 3 , every game we no wont be the case but some guys have the magic to change a game and I think he's got it. As for Caleb , go out swinging buddy , well deserved. Put the 5 on the court who have the most passion.
