How did Edwards win instead of Purdue’s receiver? Why didn’t Moore win? Did it have possibly something to do with Purdue’s overall record?

1) Jerry Juedy was a better WR in 2018
2) Michigan wasnt the best team in the country in 2004

Go look at the winners list. A lot of players from really good teams, but not frequently the best team.

Edit: Bell would have won last year if he had more than 7 TDs
